What a great set! These bronze latches and hinges match perfectly to give anything you're working on an antique look. I'm very happy with the quality, especially with the bronze finish. They are small in size, so don't expect these to work for large chests or boxes above 12 inches. The box comes packed with everything you need to use them, including matching screws. The hinges come closed, and can be a little difficult to open at first, but I prefer that over lose floppy hinges. The material is metal that feels sturdy and will hold up overtime with use. Very happy overall with the value of this. You get a lot for a very decent price.

We got these for an old box that was passed down from relatives. The hinges were still good and required only a tiny bit of wood-glue to be functional without having to be replaced, but the locking latches on the front were falling out, and the holes were deteriorated. These latches are slightly larger and use slightly larger screws than the original latch-sets on the box, which allowed us to remove the old ones and put wood-glue into the holes before installing these. The result is that the new hinges are nearly the same color as the old ones, they lock and unlock easily, and the box can be useful again instead of sitting there taking up space. The pack has so many extra sets that we ended up putting a set on a box with no latch and then putting another set on a letter-box that had long since lost its front-closure, and now we're looking at everything we have to see if anything needs sprucing up with a new latch, because they're so smooth to operate. Overall, the quality of the little latches is good, for smaller size, and they install very easily. These keep a box closed, but aren't complicated or designed to lock so that someone wouldn't be able to find what they were looking for, and they add just a touch of that steampunk look that we like on older objects in the house. We're giving these five-stars for quality and ease of installation and utility, and we already had two go missing when someone saw them and grabbed some for a project at their home. We'll have to buy more, at this rate, and we'll be glad to. These are really nice.
