Each piece is formed from solid mild steel using a single-piece bent design rather than a welded two-piece look. The steel is 5mm thick and 1.5 inches wide; giving the bracket a sturdy contact surface for wood boards; butcher block; reclaimed lumber; plywood; painted shelves; or stained boards. The matte black powder-coated finish is designed to resist rust; corrosion; scratches; and chips for indoor spaces and covered outdoor areas. This variation has a 4 inch wall height and a 8 inch shelf arm depth; meaning the second number always tells you the shelf support depth. For best fit; choose a support that reaches at least two-thirds of the board depth and keep the front overhang around 0–2 inches. Each bracket is rated for 50 lb when mounted into wood studs; total shelf capacity depends on how many brackets are used and how the weight is distributed. Do not space brackets more than 32 inches apart. The kit includes 2 black wall screws and 2 black shelf screws per bracket; all screws are wood screws; and installation instructions are included. Wall anchors are not included. Drywall-only installation is not recommended for full load capacity.
