I got the 11.4” x 7.5” x 5.5” grey lid box. It has mesh covered side vents on each side to allow cooling air flow. 3 bottom holes with some rubber cable glands to help waterproof the box. It also comes with misc accessories to mount it to a pole or wall, and some twist caps for wiring. The size is absolutely perfect for beginner DIY light shows running a raspberry pi + 2 meanwell power suplly units + pixel controller for ws2811 pixel nodes. The box even comes with a bottom mesh mounting plate to secure all of the equipment and keep things neat. The box is a sturdy built light grey that hides well on walls or on a pole. I will fully build the boa for my primary house outline light show and possibly pick up a few more for the longer distance boxes. These are much cleaner, bigger, and nicer looking than the ammo boxes that I tried to use.

This is a review for the ABS Waterproof Ventilated Electrical Box Enclosure.This is a ventilated outdoor electronics enclosure, and in my case I’m using it to host a power supply and control electronics for one of my exterior WLED projects. It turns out to be just about the perfect size for a 200W power supply and an ESP32, with enough flexibility on the backplane to mount wiring and supporting components without it turning into a total spaghetti incident.The enclosure itself feels solid, and the backplane is one of the more useful parts of the design. It gives you a variety of mounting options, and it also comes with a section of DIN rail, which I didn’t end up using for this particular build, but it is nice to have included for anyone building around more standard control hardware. I could also see this being a good fit for 3D printer or CNC router electronics, along with plenty of other semi-professional or professional control projects.The big question with something like this is whether it will actually hold up outdoors, and while only time will fully answer that, my first impression is very positive. Based on the materials and construction, I have no reason to think it won’t survive Michigan summers and winters for quite a while.At least for my use, this is a well-sized, versatile enclosure that does exactly what I wanted, and it seems well suited to plenty of other electronics projects too. For my application, this is an easy five stars.
