This is a solid gate hardware kit and comes with just about everything you need to build or reinforce a wooden gate. The brackets are heavy-duty, the finish looks good, and everything feels like it will hold up well outdoors.Installation is pretty straightforward. If you can measure, drill, and run a screw gun without inventing new curse words, you'll have this together in no time. The included latch works well, and I really like the pull cable for opening the gate from the opposite side. It's one of those little features you don't realize you'll appreciate until you're using it every day.The hardware itself feels sturdy. The steel is thick, the brackets don't flex, and once everything is tightened down, it does a great job keeping the gate square.The reason this gets four stars instead of five isn't because of the quality of the hardware. It's because I think the kit oversells what it can do.If you're building a heavy gate or anything much over about four feet wide, don't expect this kit alone to prevent sagging forever. Gravity has been undefeated for a pretty long time. A cable and turnbuckle should either be included or at least recommended in the instructions for larger gates. This kit reinforces the gate very well, but it isn't magic.I also ended up using some of my own screws in a few places. The included hardware works, but depending on your lumber and gate design, you may want something longer or heavier.Overall, this is a well-built kit that's priced fairly and makes building a gate much easier. Just build a solid gate frame first and think of this as reinforcement, not a substitute for good construction.Four stars because the hardware is excellent, but a little more guidance for larger, heavier gates would make this kit much better.
