I installed this exhaust fan during my bathroom remodel, and it has been a great upgrade. One of the first things I noticed is how quiet it is compared to the older fan it replaced. It does a good job removing moisture and steam after showers, helping the bathroom clear out much faster.The fan feels well built, and the installation was straightforward. Once installed, it has operated smoothly and has been reliable with regular use. After unboxing I noticed that the light diffuser was pushed in too far (see 1st photo). I was able to pry it out with a thin putty knife and reinstall it correctly. It's still slightly bent but good enough if you don't look too closely.I powered it up on my workbench and was happy with the quietness of the fan and the light is fairly bright. I do like the 5CCT feature that allows you to change the color temp. I did not check the light dimming but that's not important to me for this installation, although I may install a light dimmer switch later if the light seems too bright.As I was unhooking it and getting ready to set it aside until I'm ready to install, I noticed that the nut that holds the squirrel cage fan blade to the motor shaft was very loose - not even finger tight. I was able to tighten it OK. Glad I caught that before installation.The duct connector/damper assy is made of flimsy plastic. Hopefully this will be strong enough to accept a clamp to hold the duct.The install manual is fairly good. It shows how to install in both new and existing construction. What I find a bit odd is that with new construction the fan housing mounting flange is mounted directly to the ceiling joist behind the sheetrock and with existing construction it is on the surface of the sheetrock. With new construction, if the fan needs to be replaced, the sheetrock would have to be cut out of the way to remove the fan. Not ideal, so I would be tempted to install after the ceiling is finished so it could be replaced more easily. Also, the way the light assy attaches there is a gap of just under an inch between the light and the finished ceiling surface for air travel. With existing construction this would make the metal flange visible. Probably not a big deal but good to know before installing.Since this is a fairly inexpensive fan/light it's probably an OK purchase. If it was more expensive I would likely buy something else.A note about Amazon's AI "Ideas": Some of the categories don't make any sense based what I've written in this and other reviews.
