I’ve replaced a lot of window screens over the years, and this stainless steel mesh is a big upgrade over standard fiber mesh. The quality is very good, and the material is much thicker and more rugged compared to the flexible screens most people are used to. This makes it a much better option for areas where you need extra protection from pets, damage, or outdoor conditions. The durability is also excellent since 304 stainless steel is exceptionally strong, fire-resistant, and corrosion resistant. The black coating gives it a cleaner appearance, and it still allows good visibility while keeping insects out.The installation is very simple, but I highly recommend using a screen roller tool because it makes the process much easier and gives a cleaner result. It’s easy to use and install if you have a roller tool and a pick to get the old spline it. The metal mesh is less forgiving than fiber material though, so be careful with the edges. Make sure you measure the width of your existing screen before ordering so you get the proper fit. This roll is a great option for windows, doors, vents, or areas that need a stronger screen material than traditional mesh. The current price of $61.99 for a 24” x 25’ isn’t the best value, but this is a premium material, and it will last a very long time.

I switched to stainless steel mesh screens and I'm amazed at how much better they are than the plastic ones I used before. These screens are made from 304 stainless steel with a black coating, which means they won't rust, wear out, or get damaged by heat, cold, rain, or snow. I got this window screen to replace the old screening on some of my century home’s original window screens. None of the have EVER been rescreened & it’s VERY obvious. Years ago, I tried to put fiberglass screening material in one & it was a huge fail. It just wasn’t fit for these old wooden frames. This pvc coated stainless steel screen is just like the old stuff, but better because of the pvc coating. I was able to replace one of my smaller screens pretty easily with this & am real happy with the results. Seeing in & out of this black screen is clear & nice. There were no snags & blemishes in the first 4ft that I’ve used so far & it’s sized just as described. It installed nice & taut & is effective at keeping out the bugs. Very happy with this nice quality screen.I comes well-protected in & around rigid tubes, inside of a box. The edges are clean & it’s easy to work with (when wearing gloves, ofc). This is very good screen that I can surely recommend. Made in China.

This stuff is great. A little pricey as it's stainless steel but it's the only kind of window screen that will work for my needs. I had rodents chew through the screens of my living room and dining area windows and make entry into my house. It's not easy to get rid of them once they get in and they do a lot of damage. Not to mention that my labradoodle jumped up and barked every time she hears them moving about. I got them under control awhile back and have kept the windows closed but with summer I need to air out the house at night to cool it down. Normal screen material, including aluminum, will not deter rodents as they can and will chew through it. They cannot chew through stainless steel. It's not an easy material to work with as it's much stiffer than regular screen material, and it can scratch your hands. I have 5/16" screen frames; this type of material would probably be easier with 7/16" screen frames. I've begun rescreening my windows and patio slider with this. I began with the slider and am still figuring it out, but this type of screen is ideal for my area not only for rodents but because I live in a high-fire risk area and flying embers cannot burn through stainless steel screen. The black color is easier for viewing vs gray or other lighter colors. I look forward to getting my windows rescreened so I can leave the windows open without worry. Yes this is pricey, but given the alternative it's completely worth the price.

Most people don't know much about the various type of stainless steel. Originally, I wondered why some types of stainless steel is magnetic and some is not.304 stainless and 18/8 is a product description which denotes a stainless steel of a particularly good quality. It has less iron in it's composition and more chromium and nickel in them. This composition make the product much more resistant to corrosion and rust. Which makes the product last longer when used outdoors.You can tell if a stainless steel product is truly 308, or 18/8 by placing a magnet on it. The chemical composition of better stainless steel makes it almost completely non-magnetic. If a magnet does clamp onto stainless, then it has too much iron in it, and probably not the outdoor quality you're looking for.I am going to use this mesh on my workshop windows. I was given a number of used windows when I built my woodshop and some of them had screens, others did not. Because it is an outdoor wood shop I am not worried about finding factory frames for the screens, I will just staple-gun the screen to the wooden window frame. This screen will enable me to open the windows for fresh air, and keep the darn flies away from me! I hate just about any flying insects, flies and mosquitos in particular.The dark color will help filter out some of the sunlight. As you're probably aware, Arizona tends to have almost too much sunshine!I am very happy and pleased with this screen and know it will give me good service for many years to come!

This is wonderful stuff!!! I got some of this a while back and installed it because my barn cats have decided my screens were the best place to sharpen their nails. Well this stuff has now been clawed upon by 8 barn cats and still looks brand new. It’s amazingly strong, and looks just like regular screen only slightly darker in my opinion so it looks better. It was a bit tricky to install because it doesn’t move and flex exactly like regular screen but it’s definitely not too difficult to install yourself. Also you don’t need anything special for this specific type of screen for installation, just regular screen rubber gaskets type things and the little tool to insert it. And this stainless steel mesh cuts with scissors. It’s probably not advisable to cut it with regular scissors because of dulling them but I did, lol 😂.

I'm very pleased with the 304 Stainless Steel Mesh window screen. The mesh itself is excellent quality: neat and uniform. It's a good thickness, providing some flexibility but not the sense that it was tear or gouge easily. The black mesh is uniformly colored, and it's easily handled. The description says it's for doors, but keep an eye on the sizing. Mine is 24 inches wide, which is of course shorter than most doors. For my purpose (patching and replacing vent mesh in my basement) it works perfectly.
