It is well made and features a light in the female socket as well as a very nice locking feature for the female socket. The lock is easy to release and automatically holds the connection tight. I have used this cord several times and found it easy to use and easy to coil up when finished. I also like the bright color of the cord that makes it stand out and highly visible. I like it so much that I will be ordering another one in this length and another in the longer length.

Who would have thought there's anything you can do to reinvent the extension cord?That may be slight hyperbole, but there are three features that make this one stand out: its dual orange and black coloring (makes it easy to identify among clutter), the amber light in the female end showing when electricity is flowing, and the lock on the female end.The lock is a good idea, just because you know something plugged into it isn't coming out. That may not happen very often, but for example I used this cord with a corded random-orbit sander, and it was nice not having it come out when I step on the cord by mistake.The light is my favorite feature. This cord is specified as being suitable for medium-load power tools, and my table saw is well within both the circuit's and the cord's 15A specs. However, every once in a blue moon I'll trigger the breaker with the saw when it's straining too hard. That's when this light is so useful: I can see right away whether I've reset the breaker successfully (it's an older one with slightly funky switches).It's also notable that this cord doesn't get tangled very easily due to its jacket (see picture), and it's easy to coil up neatly. The whole thing feels very well made, and the price is quite reasonable.Extension cords aren't the most glamorous products ever invented, but this is a very nice refinement over the ones I've been using.

This extension cord was pretty heavy duty wiring and not cheap quality. My husband needed one for work and this one is working just great. He did like the locking part to keep it secure and that it lights up when working. The description fit perfectly too.

We’re using this power cord for our printer and it’s working well. The locking mechanism stuck a little bit when first using it but now it’s working well, it’s nice to have the cords stay together well without needing to wrap them around each other to keep them from coming apart like my dad does for his projects. The end lights up when you plug it in so you can tell that it is drawing power. The red stripe on the cord is very visible, so if you’re going to have it in a place where you want to make sure it doesn’t blend in too much that’s a nice touch. The locking mechanism works by fitting into the holes on the end of the other plug, so you can plug it in normally but then you need to push the switch to the side when you unplug it. The cord is very flexible and was easy to arrange while plugging things in and moving it around the room. It’s about as thick as my pinky, so thicker than some other cords but it does feel really sturdy so I’m hopeful it will last well.

What can I say about an extension cord? Plenty! For one thing it works. Also this extension cord feels sturdy and durable. I like the red and black colors which will be easy to find in winter snow, as I expect to use this for outdoor Christmas lights. The locking plug is what I love most. Once you plug in your appliance/item into the female end of the cord, it locks in place and can't be removed until you slide the black switch to unlock it. (See photos). There are so many times I would be using my leaf blower or hedge clippers and they would become unplugged from the cord. Now this will never happen. Because of this I would give it 6+ stars if I could. Another neat feature is the female plug lights up when the cord is plugged into an outlet, letting you know you are drawing current. If your item stops working, you can easily tell if the problem is with your appliance or if it's the circuit.One thing I have a question about is this warning on the warning tag. Cancer and reproductive harm? Is that only if you chew through the insulation? :D The tag, which states is not to be removed, is made out of regular paper, not coated or plastic. I think it will disintegrate if left outdoors (on Christmas lights, for example.)
