I think it’s actually really convenient that it folds up. Feels durable and high quality. Works just like a normal straight level but saves more space.

I ordered this level for the simple reason that it is foldable and therefore fits easily not only into my toolbox but also my backpack/luggage when I travel. This well-made, 4-vial, mostly metal, magnetic level performs all the functions of more standard straight 3-vial levels. In addition it might be useful in other situations. Because it is “bendable” (with a little elbow grease) it can be used to true two different surfaces with respect to each other- for example stair treads- or any two horizontally stepped surfaces. For more “normal” applications a standard straight level is easier to work with.
