Upgrading an outdoor structure like a mailbox, deck railing, or patio gazebo can easily cost hundreds of dollars if you hire a professional. Deciding to tackle these projects myself was made significantly easier by using these exceptional 4x4 post bases, which saved me a small fortune in labor costs.Right out of the box, the outstanding build quality is immediately apparent. Constructed from 2mm thick carbon steel, these brackets are beastly heavy, substantial, and far sturdier than I ever expected. The smooth, glossy black powder-coated finish not only looks sleek and high-end but also provides excellent long-term rust and weather protection around a busy workbench or damp concrete pad.The inner size offers seamless compatibility with standard nominal 4x4 posts. The inner dimensions are exactly where they need to be, ensuring a clean, true fit with standard rough-sawn and dressed lumber alike, with no forcing, trimming, or tedious adjustments required. What truly elevates this hardware is the raised-base design featuring built-in drainage holes. Keeping the wood elevated off the ground prevents it from trapping water, dramatically reducing moisture damage and long-term rot. It is a brilliant detail that separates this thoughtfully engineered product from a basic, flat bracket.Installation is completely straightforward. The rectangular base features a space-saving anchor layout, meaning you don't lose usable surface area compared to bulky square bases. The pre-drilled holes make it incredibly convenient to anchor the unit into wood or concrete, and the package arrives as a complete kit with all the necessary corrosion-resistant screws and a legitimate wrench. Once bolted down to my patio floor, the base felt rock-solid, secure, and ready to hold weighted posts for hanging plants or supporting a heavy roofed structure. This set offers tremendous value for the money. It easily earns a solid five stars!

The 4x4 post bases are a sturdy, well‑built option for securing posts in outdoor projects like decks, gazebos, fences, patios, and mailbox stands. The carbon‑steel construction with a 2mm‑thick wall feels solid and durable, and the black powder‑coated finish adds excellent rust and weather protection. The raised‑base design is a smart touch—it keeps the wood elevated off the ground, helps prevent moisture damage, and includes drainage holes to reduce rot over time. Everything fits cleanly, and the inner 3.6" x 3.6" size works well with standard 4x4 posts.Installation is straightforward thanks to the pre‑drilled holes and included screws and wrench, saving you an extra trip to the hardware store.

The post bases I got were well quality controlled. The powder coating is awesome and the welds are excellent. I think it may be laser welded, but I'm not sure. The welds are very clean. The sizing and whole spacing on these post bases is pretty practical, comparatively. I'm just glad that this set was complete in what it included as far as mounting goes. The mounting hardware is pretty complete for most 4x4 use cases. I buy these posts pretty regularly from different sources and they usually don't come with hardware, which I appreciate. The sidewalls are actually tall enough to offer meaningful support and like I said earlier the powder coating is quite nice on these, so they look great. I think they are a pretty good value.

I recently decided to add a railing to my patio to change the look and add a post that I could hang plants from. I was looking for an easy way to secure the corner posts, so when I saw these post bases, I thought I would try them. They worked great! They are made very well - the finish is smooth and glossy. The bases are heavy weight and once they were attached to the patio floor, they were very secure and hold the posts well. The predrilled holes required to anchor the bases are convenient and helpful. Overall, these are great post bases that I would definitely recommend.

I am building a pergola to extend the shaded area of my patio. The structure will span two different surfaces: the first is a lawn area, for which I am using a different type of anchor easily found at large home improvement stores. For the concrete section of the patio, I needed supports that would work effectively, and these proved to be a suitable choice. The package comes with two pieces and includes everything needed for assembly, such as expansion anchors, standard screws to secure the post to the base, and even a wrench. The bases are made of fairly thick steel—about 2 mm—with a black coating that helps protect them from rain and rust. A functional detail I liked is that the base features a slightly raised internal design with drainage holes; this prevents water from pooling at the bottom and rotting the wood post over time. These are sturdy supports—firmer than the ones I am using on the lawn—and they are well-made. Installation via the pre-drilled holes is straightforward and yields excellent results. All this gives me peace of mind knowing the structure will remain stable against wind and rain, or if someone leans against the posts. It is a fitting product for this type of patio project.

These 4x4 post bases are way better than I had expected to use in a simple build to put a roofed structure over a concrete pad beside the garage to create a shaded outdoor work space. These post bases are beastly heavy and made with a deep welded bottom to keep your post off the ground to prevent trapping water and rotting out your post. The ground support is rectangular with 3 anchor points on the short sides, which is perfect as a square base would mean the loss of usable space on the pad with having to anchor all 4 sides. This set does come with all of the hardware needed as well as as legit wrench.I'm currently sitting on about 5 different sets of post bases, each for various upcoming projects, but so far, these are by far the best ones.

Sometimes the smallest part of a project ends up making the biggest difference.I ordered these post bases while replacing our 28-year-old mailbox and post. After pricing replacement mailbox installations, I was shocked to see how much some companies charge. Between labor and materials, it's easy to spend several hundred dollars on what is essentially a simple project. I decided to tackle the job myself and these post bases became a key part of the upgrade. The first thing I noticed when I opened the package was the quality. These brackets are significantly thicker and heavier than I expected. The black powder-coated finish looks excellent, feels durable, and immediately gives the impression that these were built to last. The fit was perfect for a standard 4x4 post, with no forcing, trimming, or adjustments required. One feature I particularly appreciate is the raised design and drainage hole. It's a simple idea, but a smart one. Keeping the wood elevated and allowing moisture to escape helps protect the post from long-term water damage and rot. This is one of those details that separates a thoughtfully designed product from a basic bracket. For my mailbox project, I installed the base into a new concrete foundation and secured everything together with corrosion-resistant hardware. Once the concrete cured, the post slid into place perfectly. Combined with a PVC post sleeve and new mailbox, the finished project dramatically improved our curb appeal for a fraction of the cost of a professional installation.Build quality is exceptional. The steel feels substantial, the finish is well applied, and the overall construction inspires confidence. Based on the materials and workmanship, I fully expect this bracket to outlast the mailbox attached to it.From a value standpoint, this is an exceptional purchase. The package includes the hardware and wrench needed for installation, the fit is accurate, the construction is excellent, and the long-term durability should save money by preventing premature replacement.Pros:• Thick, heavy-duty steel construction• Excellent powder-coated finish• Perfect fit for standard 4x4 posts• Smart drainage and moisture-control design• Easy installation• Hardware included• Attractive appearance• Exceptional valueCons:• None worth mentioning based on my experienceFinal Verdict:If you're building or replacing a mailbox, fence, railing, pergola, gazebo, or other outdoor structure that requires a 4x4 post, these bases are an easy recommendation. They're well designed, extremely sturdy, easy to install, and offer outstanding value for the money.I included photos so buyers can see the construction quality and finish for themselves.Highly recommended.Cheers,Axum Phoenix

The package includes two 4x4-post anchors, expansion bolts to install on concrete bases, screws to install on wooden floors, screws to attach posts to anchors and an installation sheet. This seller has included his (or her) phone number to receive texts and phone calls from buyers of this product that shows the seller's unwavering effort to serve his (or her) customers. The anchor is a solid piece made of steel. It comes with hardwares to install on multiple types of floors. The anchor will wrap around the bottom of a post on all 4 sides giving supports to a post from all directions though it has pre-dirlled screw holes to attach a post on only 2 sides. There are 8 holes at the bottom to drain any water collected. There is 1/2" clearance between the bottom of a post and the ground; this will let the collected water to flow away instead of puddling at the bottom and also as the post is not in contact with the floor any insect harboring on the floor will not attack the wood. These are good quality anchors for 4x4 wooden posts and they will help to achieve strong and perfectly vertical installation of posts
