This is a nice set of 60 two inch diameter surface conditioning discs. They are a nylon mesh material, similar in composition to 3M Scotch-Brite. Grits included are Coarse (60-80 grit), Medium (100-150 grit), Fine (180-240 grit) and Extra Fine (320-400 grit).Also included are two disc holders, each with a ¼ inch shank. One has a round shank and the other a hex shank. The holders and discs use a quick change configuration, equivalent to popular brand names of 3M Roloc or Norton Speed-Lok TR.I tried out a couple of these discs with my ¼ inch hex cordless driver and right-angle air die grinder. It was easy to put the discs in the holders, were held in place firmly while using them, and came off easily. The discs did a good job on a couple of scrap pieces of aluminum and steel that I used for a test.At a current Amazon selling price of about $20 for 60 discs and two holders, I think this is a very fair deal. They seem to be well made and I believe they will hold up pretty.

I got this set of 60, 2 inch surface prep discs largely for when I rebuild engines and work on various pieces of equipment. These discs are great for preparing metal surfaces for gaskets; they also help remove stubborn built up spots of gunk, paint, and do a good job of deburring steel sheet edges; making them pretty versatile. They hold up fairly well, although if you use them for deburring they don't hold up nearly as long; not an unexpected thing considering how they are made. I have never used this type of disc on wood, but it makes sense that it would work well.The included grits (60-80, 100-150, 180-240, and 320-400) give you a good variety so you can go from stubborn paint or sealant removal all the way to fine finish prep. The discs are quick and easy to mount and dismount from the backing pad, and the mandrels included let you choose between one for normal drill chucks and one that will work in normal drill chucks as well as 1/4" hex chucks; the second one being my preference. If you’re anything like me, your projects rarely involve nice, flat, wide-open surfaces. It’s always the little corners, tight spaces, and awkward spots that need the most attention.That’s exactly why I was interested in these 2-inch quick-change surface prep discs.I actually prefer the smaller size because they’re much easier to maneuver into areas where larger discs simply won’t fit. There are so many uses for sanding discs whether it be to prep surfaces for paint or powder coat, removing paint and rust, to polishing, and so on. These are a smaller footprint disc for those instances where you need a smaller disc and want to use a drill or die grinder.I'm the box you get 60 discs, two attachment posts (one hex and one smooth), the disc base, and a plastic case. There's are 15 disc each in coarse, medium, fine, and extra fine. The abrasive media is suspended in a nylon "webbing" on each disc unlike sandpaper discs. The case is standard and the latches hold well. There are no divider pieces but there are slots for them. Each of the disc posts come with their own nut and lock washer. The base is rubber and screws onto your post of choice allowing you to screw on a disc. Attaching the disc is very easy and removing them just as simple. I didn't over tighten just made sure it sat firmly. The good thing is that each one held on during use.I used these on an electric die grinder with the smooth post which fit perfectly. I first tried each disc on a piece of hot rolled mild steel that already had the mill scale removed. I tried each disc on a separate corner. You can see in my picture that the coarse and medium did remove material while up to the extra fine it almost just polished it. On wood, each disc did the job removing old varnish. It's difficult to convey in a picture but coarse did leave scratch marks that you could feel while extra fine felt very smooth. I would always follow up unidirectional sanding on wood to prep for stain and urethane. For rust removal, I used a rusty piece of mild steel square tubing. Using the coarse disc, it removed rust without problem and left a nice finish with an acceptable amount of scratch.When everything was done, there was a little glazing on the disc but still usable. After using them on wood, they looked pretty clogged but there was a lot of life left in the discs. I guess the old varnish just made it look worse. These held up to my first use and there were plenty left in reserve. These are great for their intended use and I'm liking them so far. I'd recommend them to anyone wanting this size disc.
