Mat rolled out flat right on the bench out of the box. No curled edges to fight with. The silicone is thick, sturdy, and grips the tabletop hard.It measures 20 by 14 inches. You can squeeze an micro-ATX motherboard on here, but it is sized perfectly for ITX builds and smaller jobs. Slapped it on the desk and put a PC together with zero sliding.Put the heat resistance to the test repairing a busted LED sign. Left my hot soldering iron resting directly on the pad for a few minutes. No melting. No scorch marks. Takes the heat exactly as advertised.The molded slots are highly practical. Held my extra soldering tips right where I needed them. It also has these little grip channels that clamp down on loose wires. Really helped keep the LED cables lined up while I soldered. Dialed in layout.Cleanup is quick. Solder drops pop right off. Built-up flux wiped away clean with a single rag. Nothing sticks to it.Only improvement I would want is a small magnetic section to hold tiny chassis screws. Aside from that, it is a great addition to the shop. Hard to beat the utility for the money.Five stars.

I added this mat to my workbench for soldering small electronics and assembling computer parts. The large surface gives me plenty of room for tools, components, and circuit boards without feeling crowded. I especially like the built in solder holder and textured surface because they keep small parts from sliding around while I work. The silicone protects the table well from heat, and dried solder or flux wipes away without much effort. It can attract a little dust and lint when stored, but a quick wipe gets it clean again. I really like this mat, and not just for soldering. The many different compartments makes it useful for all kinds of disassembly and reassembly fix-it projects. I'm always being "creative" around the work bench when it comes to securing small parts and in particular screws and gears for later reassembly. This is really the "right" way to do it, with compartments for each part, spread away from the work area, and on a sturdy, non-moving base. I can see this being used for many, many projects of all types.As for soldering, look, I've not really been sold on needing a mat if you don't really care about the surface of whatever your bench is made out of. Yes, in theory you could start a fire depending on the material, but much more likely you're just going to accidentally touch the hot tip and burn the top, which just isn't an issue for my beaten-up workspace. However, having all the little extras that this mat offers along with the protection of the silicone is really the key. Yes, I'll use the little features intended to hold wires and whatnot in place for their intended purpose, but like all work-bench-warriors, I'll also improvise and use all kinds of the features of this mat to do something unintended but super helpful.The size here is very helpful for me, and works perfectly. I think optimally you'd have at least this size available for most projects, so I suspect it will also work for you, but measure, of course. When not in use, it can be rolled up and put aside, or stored in the box it came in.I may not have bothered buying this if it wasn't offered to me for a vine review, but now having it, I can say I wish I had thought of buying it many years ago. I managed not to lose screws over the years through extra care and more than a little bit of anxiety and swearing as one dropped on the floor and I jumped down with my flashlight to quickly find it, but having a mat to save me all that suspense and effort would have, in retrospect, always been nice.

I received the blue version of this mat, which provides a good color contrast between it and the things you are working on. There are many small areas to place screws or small components to keep them sorted, and the lips around the mat do a good job keeping things from rolling away. I like that it has a few little nubs to hold wires you are soldering, so you don't have to pull out another apparatus to get the job done - it is built right into the mat. It is 20" by 14" which is the perfect size for most of my projects allowing for a large main working area and plenty of space around the edges for the aforementioned organiztional areas - the main work area is 15 1/2" by 9 3/4" including the top divided corners. The silicone in the upper corner of the main working area where the many little squares are for sorting screws is a little thin - you can see light shining through - but that is the only negative thing I can find to say about this mat. It rolls up easily for storage, but I have a feeling this is going to become a permanent fixture of my workspace.

This soldering mat is exactly what I've been needing to keep my workspace tidy, without getting melted flux dripped onto my tabletops, or solder, or hotglue. It's big with lots of storage areas for different parts and components. In the attached photo you can see where I'm using it to repair a light strip's broken remote (the battery clip busted off). The storage areas made it easy to keep track of the little scraps of plastic I needed after the soldering to close it back up with the hot glue gun. The big spacious work area made it easy to fit both the soldering and the hot glue tools.The only thing I noticed with it that was less than great is it's rather difficult to remove fine dust from it. A little bit of metal dust fell out of my soldering iron tray when I set it up, you can probably see a bit of it sparkling on the surface, and that's after I vacuumed it, and brushed it off with a clean dry paintbrush, and shook it for a while. Metal dust like that just does not want to separate from this mat. That's not a really big deal, but metal dust is something that can really mess with electronics work and repair, especially when you're soldering something that doesn't have a case on it. I'm not removing any stars for that because it's a very minor issue, it's easily avoided, and I don't know how the manufacturer could possibly correct it. Do take care you try to avoid getting fine dust on this tray though, or you will probably have to spray it down with water and clean it with a soapy rag to remove it, nothing else seems able to.The flip side to that issue, however, is the tray does an outstanding job of preventing your tools from sliding around, they get really good traction on its surface. Just don't let it get dusty and you'll be fine.

If you are someone that enjoys soldering or perhaps wood burning then you know from firsthand experience that you probably have burned your work space area or even worse the furniture that you work with these products on!Will have no fear because now they have a fantastic nicely made silicone soldering work mat which allows you to do all of your soldering as well as wood burning projects right on top of a beautifully laid out and partitioned silicone mat which obviously can take extremely high heat and help prevent your workspace and perhaps even your house from burning down while you are working on these types of projects!First of all this product is made of a very nice thick silicone! It is very nicely designed and has sections where you can place different soldering tips as well as wood burning tips and any tools that you may be using while soldering or wood burning! It almost has a very futuristic look to it as well which makes it a very appealing mat to have in your workspace area! In addition they have nicely drilled holes in the upper Edge or you can also place your wood burning tips as well as soldering tips!This is definitely one of those items that you really didn't think you needed until you actually damage your workspace or Furniture area that you are soldering or wood burning! Therefore if you would like to save yourself a lot of headache and grief from actually burning good Furniture in your house while doing such projects then I highly recommend getting this silicone soldering mat which will keep everything organized and safe in your workspace area!Also, this is very reasonably priced on Amazon and is a whole lot cheaper than having to refinish a piece of nice furniture that you accidentally burned while soldering!Therefore, based on my review I am rating this product five stars because it truly is an excellent silicone soldering and wood burning mat which will allow you to do your projects without damaging any more of your house in furniture!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
