The fact that it operates with batteries that I already have, it definitely a plus. I would highly recommend it.

It fits my DeWalt battery perfectly and functions just like the original one. Its a pretty versatile heat gun, i have used it in wood working and as well as sealing plastic crafts. It has few nozzle accessories which are useful. Quality is very close to actual Dewalt, it just doesn’t have the battery so I use my own battery which last a good amount of time. Its heats up pretty fast. Handle has a good grip and it fits in my tool cabinet. Im happy with it. Good value.

This cordless heat gun functions very well to effectively air heat objects to the desired temperature. The LCD panel is bright and easy to read to set the temperature that is desired. The trigger and lock function well to effectively heat the device up and push air through to the desired temperature and for sustaining the air flow whether by holding the trigger or engaging the lock. Good quality materials were used at the construction of the device and it is compatible with the listed type of battery. The handle and Trigger are comfortable hold while using, and there is also a hook that can be used to mount the device for two-handed use. The size is fairly small and compact but about typical of a standard drill or impact driver. The handle is a nice size and will fit most hands from older child through adult period the overall Construction is sturdy and durable so this tool should last for a long time to come. Good value for the money for a cordless heat gun that can heat to over 1000 degrees Fahrenheit.

Having used a corded heat gun for years, i was apprehensive and curious about battery powered heat guns. This one does 90% of what I need from a heat gun and it does it pretty well. If you're already in the DeWalt ecosystem, then this is a great buy! It's affordable and works well, heating relatively quick and the temp control helps with temperature sensitive tasks. I did use a battery adapter and 18v battery packs work just as well. For quick jobs, this is so much easier than pulling out the corded one, running power just to use for a few minutes. Now I can just pop a battery in and get the job done. For jobs that need a longer run time, I'm still going to use the corded one. I haven't yet run through an entire battery with this, but so far it has lasted longer than I expected for something that draws so much power. It seems well made, though the battery did fit rather snug, that will probably get better after awhile. Using Heatshrink tubing is so much easier without having to worry about a cord, though it does take a little longer to hit temp!

I picked this up primarily for use with heat shrink tubing. I found that it can get the job done but takes longer than a corded heat gun. I was pretty disappointed with the time it takes to warm up enough for simple heat shrink. I learned to use the trigger lock and let the gun run for a solid minute before I need to use it. I love that it runs on DeWalt batteries and is very convenient to use. Keep your expectations low with this product. It will not get hot enough to strip paint as shown in the ad.

Just as promised this accepts DeWalt batteries and blows hot air. What more could you ask for?Well, it has a bit more going for it. It has a digital heat adjustment, from about ninety degrees up to about a thousand (Fahrenheit). It also has a little LED work light while it's on, as many drills and other power tools do nowadays. Also you can lock it on and lay it flat on its back, aiming air upwards, which I often do when it's easier to manipulate the piece I am working on than the heat gun itself.Oh, and it has three tips - two to direct the hot air into a narrower area, and one meant for (I think) applying heat while scraping. I don't think it would be comfortable to use this tool as a scraper so I'd probably just use it with a metal putty knife. Also there's a system where a retractable ring kinda holds the attachments on, which makes them easy to switch and holds them pretty securely.It is much nicer than my old heat gun, has more adjustability in temperature, and it's cordless. I'm pleased with it.

This is a cordless heat gun that runs off a Dewalt battery, and I've been using it mostly for heat shrink tubing on electronics projects. It gets hot fast. Not "wait around and check your phone" fast, more like clip the tube on, hit the trigger, and the shrink is already doing its thing before you've decided where to point it next. The LCD readout is a nice touch since you can actually dial in a temperature instead of guessing, and the range goes low enough for delicate stuff and high enough that I haven't wished for more.My favorite small thing is the curved shroud nozzle that lets it tail-stand. Being able to set it upright and use both hands instead of playing wrist-yoga with a live heat source is exactly the kind of feature you don't think about until you have it. Battery isn't included, which is standard for this kind of tool, so if you're already in the Dewalt world you're set. It does what a heat gun should do, and the cordless part means I'm not dragging a cable across the bench.

This heat gun works great! It works perfectly with the DeWalt batteries. It's instantly hot and works great for shrink wrapping. It has a button next to the trigger that will keep it running so you don't have to continuously push the button. I appreciate the top display and the lights.It comes with a couple of different tips. It's pretty cool that you can twist the plastic collar at the top and they'll pop off that way you can change tips while they are still hot. It also has a hook on the back so you can securely hang it up while it's still hot too.Once things that is strange it's that the one tip that they show in the manual is not one of the included tips and, arguably, it's one that would be most commonly used.
