I was getting ready to have this installed yesterday. My landlord came over to get rid the old on that was draining at least 25% of scolding hot water from the spout during my showers. Making too much noise and whistling like a kettle. I was very new to this system as I only knew about the threaded type. My pipe was threaded. So, I had some questions regarding this and so forth. I saw that my fellow Vine members had great 5 star reviews and that had me trusting in confidence to let him cut the threading off my pipe in order to install this faucet. So, we went ahead and proceeded with the install. Reviews are right this works very well. Not a single drop of water from either end. It was so simple to just slide this over the pipe. I really couldn't believe it. My water now completely comes through this spout. No more loss of hot water. It made a difference in a few ways as I noticed during my shower. It's durable material in brushed nickel. It looks nice and sleek now. It functions easily with just a simple upward pull to engage the diverter in either direction to shower or fill up my tub. It allows the water in great pressure to flow through. Unlike the old one that only allowed 1/4 of the water to barely flow out. This handles it in full pressure mode. I have really high pressured water exactly as I expect it to be.! I very pleased only wishing I'd done it sooner.My 1 gripe is that I chose this precisely for the reason that it states to being extra long. In my case it's not extra long. It's 6.3 inches which I asked the AI here if there are linger ones. Apparently, yes there is a 7 inch and even a 8.5 inch spouts. I require the 8.5 inch for there to be a noticeable difference in comparison from my old spout. It'll make a 2 inch extended difference. I have a hot tub which bellows outward like a belly beneath the spout's positioning. What happens is the water coming out of the spout ends up directly hitting the tub and not running over my feet. But, the further the spout extends out from the wall the further the water gets away from pouring onto the tub back wall basically.I haven't bdeducted a star for this matter. Because all else is working good. Also, that reading about faucets they start at 4 inches onto 6.5 inches. So, from a 4 inch a 6.3 is a decent difference. I just need an ultra extra long instead. I'm a very fair evaluator. But, if I was to consider this discrepancy in wording. I would rate it at 4 stars. It's a decent made product.

This tub spout seems well made of a nice heavy metal. The color is a matte black. I checked and it looks perfect with a name brand mixer/shower handle that I have. You cannot tell the difference in the colors, which is great because the name brand spout was very expensive and I didn't want to spend the money for it. Under the pull up lever, there is a little spot of sheen but it's no big deal and doesn't interfere with the sophisticated look of the spout. So far, so good. It works well with no leakage and good water flow. Even my plumber was impressed!

LOVE this matte black diverter! Out of the box, it is a beautiful color. I could immediately tell this was not made or constructed cheap, and I needed the universal adapter for the 1/2 inch set up to NOT leak. It has a no leak protection with the O-ring sealed (this is a common pain point and issue with universal diverters having plastic adapters. the o-ring gets pinched because it is not sealed, and I promise you you will have a leak especially when the pressure changes or if you have a shorter copper pipe coming out of the wall. Ask me how I know). I had 2 set-ups before this that both leaked, and I got this one instead and not a single problem has come of it. It fit beautifully and snug and it was a 5 min install with the tightening of the hex screw with included hex tool. It could not have been easier and more straight forward. I did have to get a pipe cutter to take off the soldered nut with a front threaded piece and turned it into a non-threaded pipe. Outside of that, I slipped it on, tightened the screw, and ran the faucet for 10 min. The diverter was smooth as butter. When it was engaged, I did not have water coming out of the spout at all. Pressure was even throughout. I love the longer 6.3 inch as I did not like how the shorter spout beforehand would empty into the drain (this made it splash everywhere), so this one having longer length stopped that completely. It's got some nice weight to it, which is something I prefer. The solid metal build is of excellent quality and it supersedes its value for your money. I can't recommend this enough. One of the best spouts I have come across!
