Good quality door knob at a reasonable price considering I’ve seen door knobs that run at two $100 and more. This one is definitely heavier weight the only thing that will take a little get used to is the way it locks but it certainly seems like it’d be a lot easier to lock your bedroom door just by pushing the butt. I finally did another door knob because I’m changing them all out to black eventually and to my surprise it wasn’t that hard. According to this advertisement, this is supposed to only take minutes and since I did the other one I probably could do this one within? I’ll say 30 minutes. Good quality is important and that’s what this seems to be. It’s very heavyweight, which is more what I want I like the black mat it’s beautiful very modern. Very sleek exactly what I’m looking for. My home is done in what I will call modern farmhouse so I have a mixture of old and new doorknob like this will go with just about any style. You choose if you’re going for a pure elegance then I would say look for a different type of door knob. This is too modern for that. Definitely a good value and a five star item.

When I first opened the box and looked at the door knob I thought: "wow - this is a great looking door knob." When I took it out of the box, I was shocked at how heavy it is. Not sure what metal it is made of, but it weighs at leastas heavy as what you would find in your standard knob. From there it was all downhill. I don't understand why the door latch, strike plate, and the screws that hold each side of the knob aren't covered in the same finish. It looks kinda of tacky to pair this beautiful knob with silver screws, latch and strike plate. What were they thinking? The locking mechanism only locks from the outside which might make it difficult for a guest to figure out from the inside whether or not the door is actually locked.Installation is not simple and straightforward. Even reading the directions is not going help all that much. In fact, I asked my son to do the installation and he quickly gave up. I then had to think it through myself. You are first going to take the knob off the side that has the two holes where you will subsequently install the screws to hold the two sides together. There is a spring inside the knob - so pay attention and try not to lose it! By the way, there is a spring on the other end as well. You want to take the side with the two long posts and insert those in the door latch first. It will make it easier to line everything up later. For the side that has the locking mechanism. you want to make sure that the post that extends out to lock the door is lined up with the little hole in the other side. You will insert something in the little hole if you want to release the locking mechanism from the other side at some point. That should make it easier to line everything up - but you will still have to jiggle things around. It is not that installation is hard, it is just not all that straightforward and it can be tricky getting everything to line up.

This door knob is very pretty. It's modern but doesn't look out of place in an older home, (1960s). Installing it in an older home less attractive. I've replaced many door knobs in my house over the years and never had an issue with fit. This knob was different. The little guard things that hug the screw posts from the opposite side are like 1mm-2mm too large. Like exactly too big to fit in the original door hole. Good thing I have a drimmel tool! I was able to create enough space for this to fit, but again, I've never had this issue before.As far as how it works..... the mechanism is a little stiff. The lock is not spring loaded, so when you turn the door knob to unlock it, there is no sound and extremely little movement to indicate that it is now unlocked. I would be careful and/or have a poking tool stashed somewhere handy if you have small children who like buttons.Honestly, I'm not sure how long I'm going to keep this knob. Hopefully it grows on me.

I ordered these door knobs to give my 90’s built home a little upgrade. It’s the little things that can make the boldest statements. I love the matte black finish. It’s so smooth and feels really nice. I was worried it would get finger smudge marks all over them like our refrigerator does but not a single one! 100% smudge free. The finish is perfection with no blemishes at all. All the hardware is included for a seamless change out. Just make sure the preexisting holes will work with the 2.5” base. Ours were a perfect fit. I guess that’s probably the standard size. The door knobs works great! No catching or any weird stuff. Just like a door knob should work! They also have a keyed version in this style which I will be getting for our interior garage door. While I was searching for different styles of knobs online I came across the black interior door trend and immediately knew I wanted to do that in my home. I can not wait to get all of our doors painted and the knobs switched out. It will take decades off the interior style of my home with such an affordable small change! For the price of a gallon of paint and ten doorknobs you get a beautiful minimalist modern look. Definitely worth the price. Just look at how good black doors with black hardware looks!! I can’t wait until we get ours done!!
