I do quite a few electrical and solar-related projects around the house, so I've handled a fair amount of different wire over time. My first impression of this 8/2 NM-B cable is excellent. The copper conductors feel substantial, the insulation looks good, and the outer jacket feels thick and well made.For 8 AWG wire it is obviously fairly heavy and stiff, but it was still manageable to work with for the short run I needed. I also like the orange jacket because it makes the heavier-gauge cable very easy to identify.I do want to be fair about my review: I have not subjected this cable to a very heavy continuous load or enough operating time to judge how it performs under significant heat. So I can't make any claims about long-term durability under demanding conditions yet. What I can say is that physically the cable feels excellent and I haven't noticed anything that concerns me about its construction.The 10-foot length was also convenient for my project because I didn't need to buy a large roll and have a lot of expensive 8 AWG cable left over.At about $39 for 10 feet, this certainly isn't cheap wire, but copper this size isn't inexpensive either. For someone who only needs a short section for an appropriate indoor residential project, I think being able to buy exactly the amount needed provides decent value.So far I'm very satisfied with the quality. I'm giving it four stars for now simply because I haven't had enough time or load on it to evaluate its long-term performance under more demanding conditions.
