I used this 12/3 NM-B cable for a 20 amp branch run feeding a GFCI outlet. The cable is very stiff, but that is about what I would expect from four solid 12 AWG copper conductors, and once routed it holds its shape well.The conductors and ground are arranged as expected, and the cable worked normally after the circuit was energized.The main drawback for me was the outer jacket. It is much more tightly formed around the conductors than the NM-B cable I am used to. My normal squeeze-and-pull stripping tool, which works fine on traditional Romex-style sheathing, mostly dented and tore at this jacket rather than releasing it. I ended up carefully scoring and snipping the sheath instead, and when I wanted to separate individual conductors I had to remove quite a bit of jacket before they would come free.That extra-tough sheath may be part of what the listing is referring to as its “armor-grade” outer protection, but it definitely makes stripping more tedious.Overall, though, the cable did exactly what I needed it to do. It is sturdy, properly configured, and worked well for the 20 amp run despite being a bit more frustrating to strip than conventional NM-B cable.

So this whole situation is just a little bit confusing and you should keep the following in mind if you select this wire for your project.The product listing name is for 12/3 wire, but when I was placing my order, the only available selection/variant on the page was marked as 14/3 wire. I decided to go for it anyway since I had a home electrical application that would work fine with either gauge option, but others should be careful when adding this to their cart. Interestingly, when the wire actually arrived, I found that it was indeed 12/3 wire after all.As far as the physical wire itself goes, the copper conductors feel solid, bend cleanly, and stripped without any issues when prepping connections for a junction box. However, the outer sheath has a couple of unusual quirks. While I would expect the NM-B jacket color to be a distinct yellow as 12-gauge wire typically is in standard residential wiring, the color on this roll seems to be somewhere halfway between yellow and orange.The other thing I noticed is the actual style of the jacket construction. Instead of a loose outer sheath like standard NM-B, the jacket is molded tightly around every individual conductor wire—a style much more commonly found in underground direct-burial UF-B cable. Stripping back the outer casing takes a little more patience with a utility knife or wire stripper since you have to peel the plastic away from each strand rather than just scoring and pulling off a loose outer sleeve.None of these points are huge dealbreakers or functional problems once installed, but the fact that the jacket style and color are non-standard, combined with the unclear listing description and variant confusion, drops this down to 4 stars for me.

From the first glance it looks like a regular NM-B cable, but it is not. There is no paper separator, the insulation is difficult to stip. It is not UL listed. It is still a copper cable, and would pass 20A, however it doesn't make it NM-B. If it was dirt cheap, I would risk using it on a barn or similar, but it costs about as much as a bona fide NM-B wire, no reason to buy it.Country of origin- China.Here is how I rate:5 Stars: Excellent product that meets all expectations. Exactly as described, 12 gauge solid copper 3-wire spool about 35' long. Just in case you get confused, 3-wire actually has 4 wires: black, white, red, and a paper jacketed ground. The insulation is soft, pliable, and easy to strip. This wire's yellow insulation is more like UF-B wire in that it is tight to the 4 wires, not a loose jacket. Resistance across the entire length was 0.2 ohms for each wire. I understand this wire is meant for indoor use, so I will be using it to wire inside my garage for some extra outlets.

I mainly bought this because the price was much better than what my local hardware stores charge for the same length of wire. If you only need a short run for a project, this is a much more economical option than buying by the foot at a home improvement store.The wire arrived as described and was packaged neatly. It's convenient not having to drive to the store or pay a premium for a custom cut. For small home projects, having the exact length delivered to your door is a real time saver.

I ordered what was indicated as 35 foot 14ga. 35 foot 12ga is what was shipped so it makes me wonder if 14ga is even sold. Additional notes below:Quality is there. Pure Copper wire. Flex is a bit stiff even for 12ga but that will happen on a 4 wire cable. Insulation/wire coating seems right and so does the outer sheathing. Shipped tightly rolled in loose style packaging. Remember that this is for interior work. Have done massive amounts of electrical work in my lifetime. This will do the job.A custom note to the manufacturer or listing/sales agent.Take a good look at your listing. 14ga appears in the "STYLE" listing for every length. 12ga image stays put regardless of what length you click on. Order form indicated 14ga - 12ga was shipped. This might cause some confusion with your customers. For me it didn't matter as 12ga is also widely used around here.

AKA "Romex" although that is just a brand name.If you're a professional electrician, you probably buy your wire in spools of hundreds or thousands of feet.But, if you are a DIYer like me, these lengths don't make sense, and the hardware stores charge an arm and a leg for cuts of larger spools.This wire comes pre-cut in convenient lengths from 10ft to 100ft, so you can buy exactly what you need.Moreover, even for comparable lengths, it is significantly cheaper than my local hardware store, and copper is not cheap so the difference is substantial.This wire is pure copper, which is the best option. I wouldn't recommend the cheaper alternatives of copper-clad aluminum (CCA) unless you know exactly what you're doing and make sure it never meets any moisture.The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that for some reason, they chose a color that doesn't comply with the current code, which states that a 12/3 wire should be purple and not orange. The latter is reserved for 10/2 wires.Note that the listing states it is yellow, but the cable that I got is definitely orange.Functionally, it doesn't make any difference, and maybe that's why they sell it cheaper. But, if you need your project to pass inspection, the color may be an issue, depending on how strict your county is.Other than that, it's an excellent cable at a very good price which makes it an exceptional value for money.It earns my warm recommendation, and a solid 4 (and a half) star rating.
