This is my review of Hypergiant’s Tabletop StiffenersThis produce is heavy metal bent into a C shape and is designed to help straighten out and support sagging tables or workbenches.The supports come with screws and hardware to attach the support bar to the table.You can attach it to the bottom of a sagging table, but if you want it to be hidden, you will need to use a router to carve a groove on the bottom of the table.These straighteners are heavy duty and built to last; however, they will only work on thick, solid wood tables and workbenches. If you have that kind of table, you cannot go wrong with this product.

Excellent price for this kit with a 6 pack of 48" long x 2" wide C channel stiffeners which was listed for $135. For comparison, my local orange big box has the same identical C channel for just shy of $30 for a single 3' section. This is a great deal on material alone. Quality is new, rust free condition. The kit ships in a long tube like box and it gets beat up which is expected because its very heavy. C channels are individually wrapped and no material damage is noted. The specs are exact to the listing including the 3mm thickness and the punched oval hole dimensions. Hardware includes brass wood inserts for each available oval hole. The internal threads are M6 x.1.0 and they supplied matching pan head screws and washers with black oxide finish. The pan heads need a 4mm allen wrench which is not supplied. The wood inserts also need a 6mm allen wrench for install and this is not supplied. The install hole for the wood inserts can vary depending on wood hardness but a 25/64" bit works pretty good for white oak. I inherited several 12' live edge slabs with my home and this kit is exactly what is needed to use them. Since I recieved this product the price has already been reduced to $107 which is alot of value in material alone.

The two inch wide low-profile channel is made from sturdy 3mm black powder-coated steel that fits neatly into a routed groove on the underside of the tabletop, making it completely concealed while giving the slab rock-solid stability. While the original cost felt a bit high at $153.99, seeing that the price dropped down to $56.99 made it completely worth it for such impressive craftsmanship and durability. Installing it was a total breeze because the set included all the necessary mounting hardware like black screws, washers, and gold threaded insert nuts, while the 16 by 8 mm elongated slots give the wood plenty of room for natural seasonal expansion and contraction.

These HYPERGIANT C‑channel tabletop stiffeners are substantial, heavy, and clearly built for serious reinforcement work. The six pack I received weighs just over thirty pounds, which puts each stiffener at roughly five pounds. That weight translates directly into rigidity, and they feel more than capable of preventing sag in large shelves, desks, or slab style tabletops. I will be using them to reinforce the display shelves in a hobby room I am building, and their strength gives me real peace of mind.The channels come with mounting hardware, although my package arrived damaged and a few of the mounts had fallen out. I am hoping everything is still present, but I am not certain yet. Even so, the stiffeners themselves are solid, straight, and well finished. At just over $23 per unit, they are not inexpensive, but the substantial nature of the supports still makes them a value. When the safety and security of what will be sitting on the shelves matters, reinforcement like this is worth the cost.

This is an extremely high-quality set of table stiffeners. The price made me wary, this concern was washed away as soon as I received the (heavy) package.First impressions were good, but not great. I'm not sure if it was a consequence of inadequate packaging or troubles in shipping, but one of the baggies was broken open and the relevant bits were tossed all around. Nothing lost it's function, but it was a bit of a pain, and interrupted what was otherwise a very positive experience.Once everything was organized, it's super easy to install these, and make no mistake, they are strong. The weight alone suggests it, but these stiffeners can take serious weight/stress with no issue whatsoever. If your primary concern is quality and performance, these are A+ without a doubt.As for price - expensive. These aren't cheapos by any stretch of the imagination. You can absolutely find options out there that cost less, but I doubt they'll be anywhere near the strength of these stiffeners. Now, if you don't need serious support, then these probably aren't what you're looking for. But if you want something that is very robust and should last for a very long while, then this is worth considering.Recommended.

As a contractor, I'm always finding uses for good heavy-duty steel brackets and supports, so I was happy to add these to my hardware collection. They're primarily designed as C-channel tabletop stiffeners, which is especially useful for larger wood tops, slabs, desks and workbenches where you want to help prevent bowing or warping over time.The steel feels substantial, and I like the C-channel design because you get a lot of rigidity without adding an unnecessarily bulky piece underneath the project. The black finish also gives them a clean appearance if they're installed somewhere that the supports might occasionally be visible.What I especially like is that I'm certainly not limited to using these for tabletops. In remodeling and woodworking, pieces of steel like this come in handy constantly for reinforcing, bracing, fabricating custom supports and solving those random problems you inevitably run into on a job. Having six of them gives me plenty to work with.The included mounting hardware is another nice bonus since I don't immediately have to go digging through my hardware bins to put them to use.Overall, these are solid, versatile pieces of steel hardware that I'm very glad to have around. I'm sure they'll end up being used for more than a couple different projects.

I used these C-channel stiffeners while building a solid red oak tabletop, and I'm very impressed with the quality. The steel is heavy, sturdy, and well made, with good attention to detail throughout. These definitely feel like substantial structural supports rather than lightweight metal strips.My tabletop is made from 5/4 red oak, so I wanted some additional reinforcement underneath to help keep the top flat and reduce the chance of cupping or warping over time.
