I ordered this DWIL tub and tile paint kit to refinish my kitchen sink. It is an older cast iron sink that is white. I keep it pretty clean but the finish could use a shiny restore to bring it back to life and get rid of the dullness it has. My other idea was to use it to refresh the kids’ bathroom sink for the same reason. I’m pretty sure I could get both sinks done with this kit.This kit comes with everything you need to get started too, both parts you mix together, products to tape off and plastic the area, applicators. I’ve worked with many paint products (I literally used to work in the paint department at a hardware store so I know paint), and by all looks this seems like it will be a hard durable finish once it’s fully cured.I also like to read over new product information to make sure I have all the information before starting and realizing I missed something important. The kit says it has a fast curing time, however, the information on here says that for a full cure you can’t use the surface for 7 days.. I am all for a good DIY project around the house and have done a lot of big jobs myself. 7 DAYS for a full cure is a lot, and we’ve not walked on floors for 3 days for a cure on sealant. I cannot have my only kitchen sink out of commission for 7 days though. I’m apprehensive about starting because I don’t want to get in to it and then have it get ruined because we didn’t wait long enough and end up with it worse than when we started!I will be waiting to try to do this over a long weekend we have coming up - where we will be going out of town - and there won’t be anyone to use the sinks in those few days, and see how it does. I want the finish to last and look great, so I want to make sure I have longer spans of time for it to be untouched while it cures.I will come back and update on my findings, once I know more on the actual cure time and with sink photos of before and after. I am excited to see how this applies, stands up over time, and how the completed refinish looks. For now I am giving this rating as a neutral stance.

I’ve tackled enough house projects to know there are no miracles in a can. This kit is a decent, affordable band-aid if you have a tub that desperately needs a refresh and you can't afford a full replacement yet. It goes on well enough and the low odor is nice, but it is not going to magically make a trashed, 30-year-old tub look factory brand new. It requires a lot of prep work to look right, and honestly, the kit is pretty expensive for what is essentially just thick epoxy paint. It works, just keep your expectations realistic.

This is glossy whit paint for tubs and tiles, ceramic and porcelain.The paint is delivered in two parts. These must be mixed before use. I presume that's so they last longer in storage.All included: stirring stick so you can mix the paint, tape to mark off areas you are trying not to paint, brush and roller to apply the paint.Once mixed, the paint is easy to apply. One coat should be all you need. The paint bonds nicely. However, it takes at least 24 hours to cure and really if possible wait 72 hours before using your freshly painted tub or sink Who wants to find out "instant" "quick" bond isn't so quick as we imagined?And that's it! Takes a bit of patience, but it's oil based paint. Thinner is NOT included. So if you want to reuse the brushes you will need your own paint thinner like turpentine to clean the brushes. When I was young brushes were not disposable. These days they often are.Effective product. Sufficient for one tub, two sinks, or half the floor of an family sized bathroom or all the floor of a small studio style bathroom.

I have not used this product yet but the reviews and claims make it look promising. I was not aware that it was able to bond to so many other surfaces. I thought it was just for porcelain therefore opening up lots of other possibilities to use this on. We initially intended to use this on the main bathroom toilet. Its okder but fancy and worth keeping. This product would bring it back to life for another 20yrs. But now that it see it can be used for so many more things i am very torn about where to use it. We have an unconventional countertop in the kitchen and man, this honestly would be utterly perfect to refurbish and seal the custom counters opposed to ripping them out and putting the basic conventional ones back in. If it works as well as im hoping, ill probably order another kit and do both.Package comes with parts a and b and an arrangement of tools to complete the kit. Part (a) the top coat, and part (b) the hardener that mixes in. Instructions state that product is only good for 12hrs max once mixed and directs users to mix partial batches carefully if multiple uses are desired. In my experience measuring out paints and hardeners evenly is a fools game. Unless equiped the extra tools and disposable measuring equipment i wouldn't recommend it personally but it is entirely doable. Tools included are a small fine bristle paintbrush, foam roller, stiring stick, gloves, a roll of tape, a roll of plastic liner with tape pre applied, and 2 pieces of 360 grit sandpaper for surface prepping.All in it is a complete kit perfect for the average DIY'er nothing extra is needed but your time to make magic happen.I truly cant wait to see the end results. I think im going to do my countertops with this product.

Great DIY kit that gave my old tub a fresh new lookI was pleasantly surprised by how well this kit worked. Everything needed for the project was included, and the instructions were easy to follow. The paint went on smoothly and left a bright, glossy white finish that made my old tub look much newer.Preparation is definitely the most important part of the job. I spent extra time cleaning and making sure the surface was completely dry before painting, and I think that made a big difference in the final result. The odor was much lower than I expected, which made it easier to use indoors.The coverage was enough for my bathtub with some product left over for touch-ups. Let me tell you about the box.The box is white and yellow. It says "DWIL." That is it. That is the whole box. Somewhere under that it says "Do What I Love" in big quotation marks and script font. There is other positive stuff too. Feel-good words. Little bursts of joy. The kind of thing you print on a candle.So I thought it was a candle.I pulled it out of the Amazon package and stared at it. I turned it around. I turned it back. Nothing. No hint. No help. Just vibes. Just "Do What I Love" beaming at me like a motivational poster in a dentist office.I decided it was my wife's order. Whatever it was. Obviously.So I set it on the table. I walked away. I moved on with my life.Then my tub and tile paint did not arrive. Or so I thought. I stood there, ready to fight. I nearly filed a support ticket. I had the angry words loaded. "Where is my paint?! I ordered paint. It says it arrived, yet nothing!"Then my wife walked over. She opened her "candle." She looked inside. She said, "There it is."There it was. The paint. In the feelings box. On my own table. I had been guarding my own order like a confused dog.Anyway. The paint.Here is why we bought it. Our master bathroom shower is 20 years old. The tile leaks. Water drips down into the kitchen ceiling. It turns the ceiling a yucky brown. A sad, wet, brown blob that stares at us during dinner.We are not ready to remodel. Remodeling is a whole thing. We just want it to stop dripping into our food room. That is the entire goal. Low bar. Very low.So we painted the tile with this stuff.It went on easy. Smooth. No fighting. High gloss white, just like it says. It dried fast, just like it says. For a box that told me nothing useful, the paint sure knew what it was doing.We have taken two showers since. Two. And here is the good part. No drip. No drip, drip, drip in the kitchen. Just quiet. Beautiful quiet. The ceiling and I are finally at peace.Now the honest part. It has been two showers. Two. That is not a long time. Ask me again in six months. The leak could come back. The ceiling blob could return for revenge. I do not know yet.Four stars. Minus one star for making me think I stole my wife's candle.
