lightweight DIY dream come true - NOT peel & stick

[Color: 39ft-A-10Pc]
Unboxing Packaging was perfect, nothing damaged. Ten pieces arrived intact without bends, cracks, or warping. For lightweight molding shipped in bulk, that says a lot about how they pack it.First Impressions I thought it was peel and stick. It is not. You must use some type of adhesive to attach it to the wall. Once I realized that, I appreciated the lightweight feel. Easy to handle solo without needing a second pair of hands.Installation Method Fear got the best of me with adhesive alone on my brand new drywall. So I nail gunned a thin furring strip to the wall first, then used adhesive on the furring strip to attach the crown molding. This gave me a rock solid mount without worrying about it peeling away over time. Solo install, no helper needed.LED Channel Feature The built in channel for LED strip lights is the standout feature. Run your light strips through the channel and you get this soft indirect glow that completely changes the feel of a room. No harsh direct lighting, just smooth ambient warmth.Appearance Looks elegant even with my 8 foot ceilings. Crown molding on lower ceilings can sometimes feel heavy or closing in, but this profile stays light and proportional. Adds architectural interest without overwhelming the space.Weight Advantage The lightweight material is a real advantage. Traditional crown molding is heavy and requires two people. This stuff is manageable solo, which matters when you are working alone on a ladder.Pros ✓ Perfect packaging, nothing damaged ✓ Lightweight for solo installation ✓ Built in LED channel for ambient lighting ✓ Elegant look even on 8 foot ceilings ✓ 39 feet covers a full room ✓ Can be mounted with adhesive or combined with furring strips ✓ High impact material feels durableCons ✗ NOT peel and stick despite assumptions (must buy adhesive separately) ✗ Adhesive alone may not hold long term on drywall ✗ No mounting hardware included ✗ Requires planning for LED strip wiring ✗ Cuts may need touch up paint depending on your wall colorWho Is This For? "DIY homeowners wanting crown molding without the weight and hassle of traditional wood. Perfect for adding ambient LED lighting to bedrooms, living rooms, or closets. Great for solo installers. If you are comfortable with a nail gun and adhesive, this is a rewarding weekend project. Not for someone expecting peel and stick simplicity or who wants professional grade solid wood molding. An excellent value for your coin!

Not as easy of a DIY as I expected

This product was a lot different than what I thought I was getting but that is not necessarily a bad thing for someone else. I didn't realize that it had the ability to light up first of all. I just thought it was crown molding. So that actually is something that is better than I thought it would be especially since you can choose to use the lighting or not. The molding itself is very nice and I like the thickness of it. Although it certainly can be painted, it doesn't look like it has to be.I could not get this project done on my own in any way to shape or form. I don't think it is quite as simple as it appears that it might be. I actually thought that I was going to just be sticking it to my wall but that's not what this is either. You will need to use nails and have at least medium level DIY skills and a lot of patience to do this. This may sound dumb to some people but I also thought that they were 10 pieces that were each 39 ft. I literally thought that I was just going to be cutting the pieces down to the size I needed which was both good and bad. I didn't get near as much of it as I thought but the pieces were in much more manageable segments. If you are someone who is skilled at this sort of project, I think this is an incredible value for the money because there will be a huge difference in the look of your home with it but if you are more into quick and easy DIY, I would probably suggest that you tried something different.

This crown molding trim is a great way to give a room a more finished and polished look.

[Color: 39ft-A-10Pc]
The 39 feet of material in the 10-pack provides plenty to work with, making it especially useful for larger rooms or bigger DIY projects.I really like the idea of using it around the ceiling with LED light strips because it creates a clean, decorative way to hide the lights while giving the room a nice ambient glow. The trim is easy to work with and can really transform the look of a space without the expense of traditional crown molding.Overall, this is a great option for a DIY room makeover. It is practical, decorative, and gives you a lot of material for the price. I am very happy with it and would definitely recommend it.

They come in 3 foot sections and they are very lightweight seem very durable. I cut mine all at 45 to make seams disappear 45-degree scarf joint. If you have knowledge with crown molding or either trim to install is pretty easy my miter saw cut right through it. I installed LED strip light on the face pointing towards the wall not the ceiling will give a different effect that does not look good. Price is pretty good tooOverall, I’m very satisfied most likely will buy more again

This review is for the moonoom 10 Pack 39 Ft Ceiling Crown Molding Trim, High Impact Ceiling Decorative Moulding, Room Top Light Strip Crown Molding for Ambient Home Bedroom Living Room Lighting (Style A). Note, one fellow Vine reviewer said that she decided to go with this "peel and stick" molding and then described how it was now installed and it was great. But this is NOT peel-and-stick molding so that review made no sense; I suspect she never even took the molding out of its box. :(I did. I took pictures. My first and second pictures are the left and right side of one of the walls in the south part of my kitchen, and these pictures show WHY I ordered this molding. When the kitchen was remodeled a few years ago, we took down a load-bearing wall between what was the kitchen and the dining room (replacing it with a heavy-duty beam) and thus also took down the original crown molding. It got damaged in the process, which isn't surprising, but I've lived without it for years now and REALLY want a finished look again. Hence, this molding. Confession here, I didn't even NOTICE the light strip part - all I saw was the crown molding part, and of course this works fine just as plain (but attractive!) crown molding - you don't HAVE to use it to support a light strip.Anyway, for my third picture I just laid a piece of the molding on my kitchen table; it comes white and mine looked nicely finished, but of course it's paintable as well. Each piece is just under 4' wide, so the pack of 10 that I got will cover not quite 40 linear feet. I will only need about 18 linear feet for the beam wall and part of the side walls, right and left, because kitchen cabinets take up the rest of the linear feet in the south part of the kitchen and they have their own molding. For my fourth photo, I tried to hold this up as if it were on the ceiling, just so I had an understanding of what it will look like; I have no innate spatial sense whatsoever so I can't visualize these things in my mind, I have to be holding them or at least have them in front of me. This one shows the open area that presumably allows for the light strip, but again, I won't be using one. And my fifth photo is basically a cross-sectional view of the molding as it would appear on the wall; I THINK we will nail the bottom horizontal strip into the wall and the top horizontal strip into the ceiling (and probably use liquid nails too for extra hold), but there were no instructions so I am just guessing. My handyman will be installing this after he returns on 7/31/26; it looks pretty straightforward, although the miter cuts for the corners might get tricky. (Then again, that's ALWAYS the tricky part with crown molding.)Anyway, very happy to have this, as it looks similar to the crown molding we USED to have. The current price of $84.99 (as of 7/21/26) is just over $2 per linear foot of molding, which seems like a good deal to me.

Serious DIY install - but worth it!Serious DIY install - but worth it!

[Color: 55ft-A-14Pc, Color: 55ft-A-14Pc]
This is a serious DIY project to tackle, and can look FANTASTIC if done with the proper tools and patience! Since these are plastic and fairly short in length, I decided not to scarf cut them, but butt join them - then took 1/2" striping masking tape to hide the seam. Once painted, you can't see the tape. If you own a ladder, nail gun, and are fairly handy, this is a great diy product for tracing LEDs around the room. If you casually attempt to install these without the tools or expertise, hire a professional.
