During the day, fence and deck posts are just structural pieces. At night, adding a warm light on top changes the whole outline of the space without needing bright fixtures aimed across the yard.The listed 3000K color temperature should give a warmer appearance than harsh white security lighting, which makes more sense for patios, decks, and walkways where atmosphere matters. At 189 lumens each according to the listing, these are better viewed as accent and orientation lighting than something intended to flood an entire yard.The dual base design for common four by four and six by six posts adds useful flexibility, and the low voltage setup makes sense when several fixtures are part of the same landscape lighting system.Installation still requires compatible low voltage wiring and proper outdoor connections. Post measurements should be confirmed because nominal lumber sizes and finished dimensions can differ.For adding warm definition around a deck or fence line, these make the posts part of the nighttime design.

These lights were a great addition to my outdoor lighting setup. The 3000K warm white light has a really nice appearance at night. It gives off enough light to make the posts and surrounding area stand out without looking harsh or overly bright.The metal construction also gives them a much nicer feel than the lightweight plastic fixtures I have used in the past. The modern design looks clean and fits nicely with different styles of outdoor spaces.I especially like that these are designed for a standard 12V AC low voltage landscape lighting system, so they can be added to an existing setup without needing to run high voltage wiring. The included cable connectors make getting them connected to the lighting system straightforward as well.The two different base sizes are a nice touch because they allow the lights to work with both 4x4 and 6x6 posts. That makes them much more versatile if you are installing them on existing fence or deck posts.At 189 lumens each, they provide a pleasant amount of illumination for walkways, decks, fence posts and outdoor entertaining areas. The warm light adds a really nice bit of ambiance once everything is turned on.They have a clean, upscale appearance that makes the outdoor space look much more finished. These are a really nice option if you want to upgrade the look of an existing low voltage landscape lighting system.

As with the other Goodsmann low voltage items I have (up lights, transformer) these lights are very well made. They are all metal construction so they will last WAY longer than the cheap plastic ones you can find. I like that the underside of the lampshade is fully enclosed to keep bugs and such from nesting in there! Again, well thought out design. These come with two separate bases for each light - one for a standard 4x4 wood post (3.5"X3.5") and one for standard 6x6 wood post (5.25x5.25). As you can see in the pic, I have it sitting on an aluminum post (3x3) and surprisingly it fits inside the first detent on the 4x4 base! Now I'd still have to rig/drill to make this work but it looks like it might be possible.The wire comes out the base of the light. You'll need to keep this in mind for mounting as ... the wire has to go somewhere! Either you'll have to carve a groove in the top of the post to bring it out the side or (ugh) bore a hole all the way down the center of the post. Wiring is set up out of the box for 'push thru insulation' style clips. While I like the ease of these clips (and these are very easy to use and secure) I don't like the style. These type clips will eventually corrode and/or short to ground if buried in any dirt/mulch. I always use silicon filled wire nuts. Also, given the post top installation, these clips are somewhat large and will require a significant cavity if you are trying to hide them inside the post. Personally, I'd plan on hard wiring them for space and/or visual reasons.I do have one 'beef' about these lights. If you look closely at the pic of the one that's sitting on the post, you can see that the shade is slightly tilted. The shades on these are welded to that half-round ring under them for support. There is no way at all to 'straighten' the shade. This probably won't be noticeable if the lamp is positioned above/below your line-of-sight but ... just something to be aware of. Maybe this is just an anomaly. I hope so as the rest of the quality of these is superior. I'm a big fan of everything I've seen from Goodsmann.

This 2-pack of low voltage post cap lights offers a solid blend of build quality and functional illumination. The 189-lumen output at 3000K gives off a warm, inviting glow that lights up decks and fences without being overly harsh. These lights were added to my existing fence lighting and they blend in perfectly. Thanks to the heavy-duty die-cast aluminum construction, they seem to hold up well against the elements, and the included dual bases make fitting them onto my 4X4 wood posts hassle-free. With cable connectors included in the box, wiring them into an existing low-voltage system was quick and straightforward. Excellent upgrade for evening ambiance and path visibility.

Saw these low voltage post cap lights while looking for some ideas for the deck upgrade. These arrived well packaged and no damage in shipping. Opening the box you find the instruction guide, wiring for install, mounting hardware plates and the two lights. The lights are constructed of aluminum so they are light weight and durable. Two options are included for mounting to a 4x4 and a 6x6 post. The light is a nice size too, it is a little over 6.5 inches tall, with a width of about 5 1/4 inches. (6.7 x 5.23 according to the ad) There is also a power lead from the light to the end connector of 4.5 feet. The light from the integrated led is ample as well, 3 watts providing 189 lumens. Well made quality post cap light providing a good volume of light, would be nice at the bottom or top of deck stairs, around a deck or porch, even by a gate. Good value for the money when compared to lesser quality lights found at the big box stores. Would buy again.

BEWARE: The pictures of these outdoor lights in the listing photos is NOT TO SCALE. They are shown in basically all of the photos on stone columns, which is deceptive.These are actually very small, and NOT in proportion when used on stone columns as pictured. These are meant to go on top of a 4" x 4" or 5" x 5" fence post. Big difference.I was inclined to take 2 stars off for this, but decided to take off one, as there IS one image showing the actual dimensions, among all of the others that are out of scale.At the price of $80 for two, these are $40. each, and although they may look good on a fence post or along fence railing, the price is reflective of a much larger unit, such as that pictured in the advertised images of the product. One star off.With that said, these are light weight metal, not plastic, and are well made. For a low voltage application, they have a mix of style, taking it into a transitional fixture--being traditional with some more modern lines.I REALLY take my role as a reviewer seriously and I do NOT like sellers that mislead buyers by posting pictures with items completely not to scale, which I find deceptive advertising.

This pair of low voltage outdoor post cap lights are really different from any others I have ever seen before. With them being powered by our low voltage transformer, no sun is required for charging, just solid performance night after night with this set of lights. They are durably made from stout die cast aluminum. They have a consistent coat of black rust resistant finish which looks great and protects them from rust and corrosion. They have included 2 sizes of matching aluminum post mounts; 3.5" squared for standard 4x4 posts and 5.5" squared for standard 6x6 posts for versatility. Also included are all necessary matching screws, plenty of wiring (extra-long, see pic 7) to reach the supply lines, and quick waterproof connectors for a quick and easy installation process. They provide bright flicker-free lighting and only use 3W of 12VDC power consumption, which is very efficient for the level of brightness. The warm white 3000K color looks very nice with our warm white landscaping lighting, but it is not adjustable CCT. The only drawback is the LED light source is integrated, not a replaceable bulb which would make it better in my opinion to have a replaceable bulb. I think this pair of lights is a good value for the money for $80 because of the build quality. I would buy these quality-made lights again without reservations, and I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone!
