I have had this screen set for a while and just haven’t been in the creative mode yet. I have examined my 102 year old windows that are in need of new screens and I have a plan for making this set work. The most important thing to me was having enough screen to fit the size of my window. The materials and hardware included are everything I need to create a functional custom sized screen. I may have enough screen and splicing left over to use in my old aluminum frame for a second window. The included instructions are easy to understand.I was just wondering where I have stored my hacksaw when I saw that this set includes a hacksaw! Perfect. I have everything I need to get going on this custom fit project…except my motivation to buckle down and do it. Maybe when fall rolls around and I have a little more free time lol.

The bedroom window in my son's rental was missing a screen. He really wanted to be able to open his window at night without letting little creatures in. I ordered this screen kit, and just like that, he now can enjoy the night breeze through his window. The kit comes with everything you could need to make a screen, including a measuring tape and a hack saw. This is great for those (like new renters or home owners), that haven't built up their tool supplies yet. The screen was pretty easy to build. Getting the measurements right so the screen would fit into it's track, was the hardest part. It was also a little difficult to get the mesh as tight as I would have liked, while trying to do it alone. I would recommend having someone help you hold the screen tight as you as you attach the screen to the frame. The parts seem to be decent quality. The metal that makes up the frame was a bit thin, but strong enough for what you need. If it were any heavier I think it would be difficult to hacksaw. I'm very happy to have a screen in his window and would recommend this kit.

Amazing value in this kit with the provided tools. This kit comes with a hacksaw, replacement hacksaw blade, cutter knife, tape measure, and roller. Frame was white and can fit a max of 58 by 58 inches. Measure your window sill and cut to fit. Be sure to leave a little slack in the screen when rolling it in to the frame to account for thermal expansion. You dont want the frame to bend or warp due to temperature changes! The quality of this frame is on par with any other generic found in big box stores. Installation is doable for a first timer and does take a little bit of instructional video but is completely achievable by non professionals. I'd recommend this kit based on sheer value alone.

This is such a wonderful set. It came at a time when I needed to replace my daughter's window screen. I have undergone a lot of renovations and have misplaced everything to put on screens. This comes with everything one needs to fix a window, and it has quality materials. When I first got it, I remember feeling so grateful: "Wow, I'm so happy! This has everything we need, and it was delivered to my door!" This is so much easier than going to a big box store, and the nice part is that you can cut the metal down to the size that you need!

I was so happy to get this kit. We had a recent break in attempt (unsuccessful) and desperately needed a new screen. The original screen’s frame was broken and bugs were getting inside. Luckily, this kit had the same size frame as my original. I have never made a screen from scratch, only rescreening. The frame cut easily. I spray painted the frames, handles and corners before screening. Included tools worked fine. Corners and tension springs assembled easily. Be aware that the corner unions are thicker than the frame, which might be a problem if your insert track is tight.This kit is perfect if you need an entire new screen. Afterwards, you’ll have all the tools needed to re-screen in the future, so keep all of them!
