This is a stunning lamp on first glance. The base is a gorgeous color - kind of a darker smoky aqua, with gold embellishments. Unfortunately, there are three separate areas where the blue color has drips, and there is also a dent or depression that is approximately 1" long and maybe 1/4" wide in the base material, as well. The lampshade is another issue. It is very ornate and lovely, but I feel like the color really doesn't match the base of the lamp that well. In natural light it looks dark gray, which blends somewhat well with the base (although not perfectly), then when you turn the light on it looks almost brown, which really doesn't go well with the base at all. I think the lamp will still look very striking if placed where it won't be closely inspected, but I feel like it's overpriced considering its poor craftsmanship.
