This set has every grit you would need for sanding! I found it very helpful that they are color coded which helps in identifying the different grits. The backside is more of a metal scour pad or scraper. They are well made and feel very sturdy and durable. After one use, I did not notice any flaking, crumbling, or shredding of the block. They are easy to use for many applications. Based on the quality, these sanding blocks are a great value!

I can’t say I’m super impressed by these sanding blocks. My first use was kind of a fail but maybe not the correct material. Once I used them to clean rust off of some steel I had more success. I’m planning to “seal in” the rust so don’t need it fully removed just the flaky bits and these worked fine. They are easy to use and since the surface is metal they seem pretty durable. They also were reasonably priced but as always you get what you pay for. My pictures show an example of before and after. I didn’t put in much effort to get the surface completely clean because I actually want some rust so keep that in mind.

The sponge base allows for easy hand holding while sanding and polishing.The sanding blocks can be used in both wet and dry polishing. When used with water the sponge backing absorbs the water to minimize dust. I used these polishing pads for countertop polishing of a granite top that had been water damaged. I was particularly amazed at how effectively working through the grits allowed the top to be smoothed for a very high quality finish. The "dust" created by each pad was incrementally finer; almost a chalky dust which showed how well these pads cut into the countertop to smooth the surface. The only thing missing was the glaze atop the surface to give it that factory look. The results were very impressive.Overall, this is a very versatile kit which comes with 60#, 100#, and 120# grits, which are ideal for fast, coarse sanding; then you can then move up to the 200# and 240# grits to remove the scratches from the previous coarse stage, then you can use the 400# for fine polishing for a smoother surface. There are also the remaining grits of 800#, 1000#, 1500#, and 3000# which provide a very fine finishing with a pronounced smoother surface.If you need to take care of some damaged countertop or spot fix some tile, I can't think of a better value for the money than this kit to get this type of repair done. Recommended.

Although as the title states, I found the sponge(s) to be much firmer than I anticipated, they are very durable (so far) and work well on the applications I've applied them to.There isn't much to a product like this, so other than performing the way they are designed to... the durability and value are the only other factors I consider important... and those are both good.They come in a couple of additional GRITS for finer and coarser work/applications, and that may have been the prudent way to go with this purchase, but I picked up the set that I calculated would apply to the task at hand, and they did not disappoint.The other patterns (striped/diamond) may be slightly more applicable to your job, so consider those options... but overall I'm happy with the acquisition.I hope this helps.

These are okay but they didn't do what I was hoping for on my granite. I was expecting the higher grits to bring out a smoother, more polished finish, but even the 1000 grit pad felt too aggressive for that. I was expecting something closer to a fine polish at that grit level and it just didn't get there.The grit range and the wet use worked fine mechanically, and the pads themselves feel durable enough. My issue is specifically with the finishing results on granite. If you're working with tougher stone and need real material removal these might be fine, but if you're chasing a fine polished look on granite specifically, even the 1000 grit isn't going to get you there.Decent set overall, just not what I needed for polishing granite to the finish I wanted.

Each grit is on a block of dense sponge base that measures 1-1/8H x 2-3/8W x 3-5/8L. These pads are ideal for hand polishing of tile, glass, metal, stone, ceramics, granite, wood and other surface polishing. The diamond pads work well for both wet and dry polishing and with the sponge pad will reduce dust and keep the surface cool while polishing. The 60#, 100# and 120# grits are ideal for coarse grinding. The 200# are ideal for removing scratches from the coarse grinding. The 400# is ideal for fine polishing and to create a smoot surface. The 800#, 1500# and 3000# are ideal for super fine finishing polish.The blocks fit comfortably in the hand. The only minor issue is that the girt displayed on the blocks is faded and a very light gray on the end of the pads. While you can distinguish the diamond grits from real coarse to fine finish by feeling the pads, you might want to consider using a Sharpie marker to trace over the grit markings on the end of the pads.These are good pads with a good assortment of grits. Depending on how heavy these are used they should be durable and last. The price for each pad is about at the current price is a little over $3 each so a pretty good deal.
