Great looking ceiling fan with eight blades, the blades are covered with a 'conformal' coating to prevent any moisture intrusion. This is not a waterproof rated fan, it does need to be installed under a roof, but is weather resistant to prevent damage from foggy weather. The fan relies solely on its remote controller for operation, all the fan speeds, and forward/reverse control is all through the remote controller. That's not all bad, it offers a cleaner look than the typical ceiling fan with the pull chain hanging down, but on the flip side there is no manual controls if the remote controller fails or has dead batteries. Includes multiple down rods in 4", 8", and 24" lengths for different ceiling heights, the rods mount on the traditional ball swivel for an adjustable base for sloped ceilings up to a maximum of 15 degree, so no steep vaulted ceiling mounting. For easy connections of the wiring, it includes push to connect fittings between the remote controller and the ceiling fan. However, none of these connections are UL or ETL listed, so I would be hesitant to use any, but especially not the one on the side of the bracket.I did find the receiver's beep when pressing the buttons on the remote controller to be a quite annoying, but there is a mute button on the remote to turn that off.What not to like...Not UL or ETL listed. This is required for safety and code compliance in the USA and Canada. And also the reason it does not get a 5 star rating. This lack of safety rating is why you will not find this product in a home improvement box store in the USA. Otherwise, it is a great fan, performs well, and looks great. My photo shows the controls and tags, but no mention anywhere of a UL or ETL listing. This is where those certifications are usually posted.My take... Get this UL or ETL listed and this is a winner.
