TLDR; This should serve well for a DIY toilet repair as long as you confirm it is a good match for your toilet's type and measurements. Before buying, I encourage you to check 3 things to ensure compatibility: Is your toilet's body a single piece (not separate bowl and tank)? While this flush valve does seem to work if you do have 2 pieces, I think you will have a more secure, longer-lasting repair if you get a kit designed for a two piece toilet. Does the hole in the lid match the dimensions shown? If not, you will not be able to use the push buttons. Does the flush opening match the diameter on the product? If it does not, it won't fit. When my toilet started constantly hissing and refilling, the internet pointed me to the most likely culprit: a faulty flush valve seal. Alas, a replacement seal gasket for my particular dual-flush system would take 2 weeks to arrive and there was no guarantee that that particular gasket was really the problem; meanwhile money was literally pouring down the drain. When I ran across this 3-piece complete toilet parts replacement kit with Amazon shipping, I decided to take a chance on it. Even though I didn't need a fill valve or new set of buttons, this set of 3 parts costs about the same as many replacement flush valves alone, and it would come fast. Maybe I'd be able to use the other parts later.I have a 2-piece toilet and the product description explicitly says this kit is not for 2-piece toilets (a fact which I missed in my haste to order), so before I started, I consulted Gemini. "can you replace a screw-on dual-flush valve with one that has a U-support spud?" I asked. And Gemini said yes, so that was good enough for me. I bought a new tank-to-bowl gasket to maximize the chances of the two parts fitting together without leaks, and then proceeded to install the new flush valve. It did indeed work with my two-piece toilet, although I have to say that the squished tank-to-bowl gasket, visible through the flush valve before the top of the tower is screwed on, looks a little suspect. It also may not hold up over time, since I use a Kaboom system to keep my toilet clean, essentially dropping small amounts of bleach directly into that opening. Also, in my first attempt, I didn't tighten the bolts or the flush valve aggressively enough, and consequently, everything leaked. Second attempt went better, and a week later, I haven't heard any phantom refilling. I probably wouldn't recommend using this flush valve on a 2-piece toilet unless you're in a pinch, but, in a pinch, it works. It would be nice if the instructions were a little less minimalistic. I still don't understand why there are two adjustment sliders for full flush and only one for half flush. Additionally, the adjustment sliders were so hard to slide that I thought I would break them, before they finally — and suddenly — started moving. Fortunately, the factory settings seem to be sensible enough, so you probably won't have to adjust these. I was also puzzled by the adjustable height of the overflow pipe—a feature my old flush valve didn't have. There's a clip you have to slide out, then slide the pipe to the height you want, then slide the clip back into place. It seems fussy and took me a few tries before I understood which position was "clipped" and which was "unclipped." I ended up pushing the pipe down to its shortest possible height.I had high hopes that I'd be able to use the new push buttons, but they ended up being too small for the diameter of the hole in my tank lid. Fortunately, the old buttons work with this new flusher, except that they have a shorter travel distance than the new ones. I am not certain whether that's having any effect on the flush power. The buttons in this set seem to move smoothly and have adjustable lengths so they can apparently fit toilet tanks of a near stratospheric height. The mechanism is all plastic, no metal, meaning it might be more likely to break, but much less likely to corrode, an issue I had with the copper parts on my old buttons. After a week with this flush valve installed, I'm satisfied that it's good enough, but I'm not certain it's perfect. When I initially push one of the buttons, the flush doesn't sound as loud and powerful as my old valve. It seems to run longer, but I miss that initial super-sucking sound that made my old flusher feel like it was doing serious work. While I haven't had any difficulties getting solids down the drain yet, I am worried that I've lost some flush power. I've also noticed that if I hold down either flush button, the toilet flushes all the way. So if you want to benefit from the half-flush feature, you have to push and release immediately.

Quality replacement kitQuality replacement kit

[Size: 2 Inch, Size: 2 Inch]
I got this for my Glacier Bay Dual Button Flush toilet. This kit comes with everything (besides hand tools) that you need to replace the inner workings. This kit fit my toilet as good as the original parts. The whole assembly feels like it is made of quality materials and well made. This was very easy to switch out. This has a nice action to it. It creates a powerful flush. I have not noticed any dripping/whining/leaking.I find the price of this replacement kit to be fair for the quality of the kit. Based on the quality, I think it will function for a long while and be a while. I am pleased with this replacement kit.

This 3 inch dual flush valve replacement kit by houpeoro for one piece button-top toilets is well made and essentially the same build quality of the units that I typically buy at the local hardware and big box home center stores. The only real difference it a considerably lower price. This kit comes complete with the quality flush valve, the supply fill valve and all needed installation hardware. This kit is a great value and I highly recommend it!Review for: houpeoro - 3 Inch Dual Flush Valve Replacement Kit for One-Piece Top Button Toilets | Includes fill valve and no-cut overflow tube; helps fix leaks, running water, weak flushes and top button issues 2608-013

Exceptional quality part…

[Size: 2 Inch]
Very well made, probably the best feeling as far as quality I’ve seen. I’ve reviewed several of these and this one feels like it’s built much better than most, also they used better quality parts from what I’ve seen.
