These will give your stairs a nice updated look: smooth, crisp, clean, and stylish. The finish on these is very nice and has a good weight to the material. Very sturdy. Installation wasn't bad at all. (I am a handy guy) For the money, you can't go wrong. I was pleasantly impressed with the open look after these were installed. These gave my space a whole new feel. Definitely worth the price.

You should note that the Seller's description is erroneous. Whereas they list "Wrought Iron" as the material these balusters are made of, they are actually Powder coated matte black Galvanized steel which I'd prefer over wrought iron for my purposes, as we will be using these for exterior use on a backyard pavilion. Galvanized steel will deliver greater protection from the elements, minimize rust and corrosion and will provide greater longevity.They are heavy duty, nicely finished, 44in. X 5/8in O.D. and come with a properly sized (16mm) spade bit to ensure a perfect fit upon installation. You'll have greater flexibility in that you CAN cut them down if you want or need to. I'm not a fan of deceptive sales tactics. When I find them in use, I call them out on it. The first thing I see is that the listing agent has "Wrought Iron" in the title of the item with no mention of what it is really made of. copy/paste of description/Title as it was when I ordered on 7-28-26 and is today 7-31-26: "44 in Wrought Iron Stair Balusters, 5/8 in OD Black Spindles, 30 Pack". Sellers are encouraged to disclose the materials and other things as we enter an item in the system. When I read on ... below the price etc, the seller lists the material as Galvanized Steel. Why not be straight forward with that from the beginning?The manufacturers box has in large bold print: "Galvanized Steel" (shown in photo). They are proud of the fact that they use Galvanized Steel as evidenced by the instruction sheet. On the top of the first page in bold states, "Galvanized Steel Stair Balusters". Then the first thing they discuss is: "1. Heavy Duty Galvanized Steel. Made of galvanized steel tubing for strength, rigidity and long-term durability. Provides a solid feel and stronger resistance to bending than many lightweight aluminum tubes or thin-walled metal tubes."Our box had been previously opened using a box cutter as evidenced by the tape used as banding and the red inventory label being cleanly cut. Both ends of the box had been torn during the handling process. We were quite relieved to find that none of the balusters were missing from the package. Each baluster is within its own lightweight plastic sleeve. The seller is quite proud of that and listed it as its fourth bullet, "Each baluster is individually sleeved in clear plastic to help protect the black finish during storage, handling and delivery." Either the seller (since they know the item will be handled by Amazon employees and a shipper such as UPS or USPS) should take additional care in ensuring the box land safely by putting plastic reinforcing corners on the outside of the box. The product is so heavy and the box so long that it is difficult for anyone not to grab it by an end and pull when reaching to get it out of a delivery vehicle or picking it up at any point in time. Both ends of our box were torn open. We were quite relieved to find that all 30 balusters, the spade bit and instructions were still inside. The instructions were folded oddly and caught up on the tape that whoever closed the box back up used. It made it difficult to open the box without damaging the instruction sheet further. But I did. I had to cut on both sides of the section that the tape had caught - leaving the long sliver of tape on the instruction sheet (photo). The tape also caught on the plastic sleeves of several of the balusters. I'm glad I saw that this had happened before cutting or I would have damaged the balusters with the box cutter.These are the things that I like about the balusters:1) Galvanized steel construction.2) Matte black POWDER COATED finish. The matte black Powder Coated finish is durable and long lasting. It helps to protect the steel from rusting along with the galvanized coating.3) The manufacturer includes the perfect sized spade bit for installing the balusters.4) Instructions are thoughtfully designed and thoroughly written and illustrated. They are clear and well written. Taking any guesswork out of the equation.5) There is a section on the instructions that goes into "Cleaning and Maintenance".6) Another Instructions section which encourages you to reach out via email for customer support should the need arise. "[****]"7) They tell you not to cut the balusters. We have done so with other painted galvanized products. We know from previous experience that when you cut a painted galvanized surface you need to seal the cut as an unsealed cut would allow moisture to get behind the paint and cause the product to begin rusting/failing. It is best to take preventative measures. SEAL the end cut before installing. We have not had a failure whenever we have sealed the cut metal. It is an important step - not to be skipped.8) The round thickened steel is durable and does not bend easily. It takes quite a bit to cause this material to bend.9) EASE of installation.I am taking off one star due to the listing agent stating "Wrought Iron" in error - possibly as a deceptive sales technique. If they had simply stated "Strong Durable 44 inch Black Powder Coated Galvanized Steel Stair Balusters have a matte wrought iron look, 5/8 in OD Spindles, 30 Pack, spade bit included". Instead, they confused matters by not disclosing and didn't really mention some of the big selling features of the product. Which, among others, the buzz words are: Strong, Durable, Powder Coated Finish, Galvanized Steel.The seller also needs to reinforce the ends to prevent missing parts and damage to the product.

The galvanized construction under the black finish gives me confidence about longevity in my marine Pacific Northwest climate, where metal hardware can deteriorate quickly without proper protection.The finish itself deserves special mention. Every baluster arrived wrapped in a protective plastic sleeve, and the black coating is flawless — not a scratch or inconsistency to be found. What I didn't fully appreciate until they arrived was that the ends are finished in the same matte black as the sides, rather than the raw metal you often find on cut ends. That detail gives a genuinely polished look that will matter once they're installed.The 44" length offers installation flexibility I appreciate. I can cut them to fit between the floor and the handrail, or — as I'm planning — mount them along the side of the stair wall at full length for added rigidity. The included wood drill bit is a thoughtful addition that saves a separate purchase.Replacing worn wood balusters with these will modernize the staircase without losing the character of the era. I couldn't be more pleased with the quality.

I was very excited to receive these wrought iron balusters because I’ve been wanting to update my stairs for years now. It is really nice that these are actual rot iron and not aluminum rods that are painted black. These are much better quality than those.While they are longer than I needed they are easy to cut with a pipe cutter. Installation seems pretty straightforward and simple and even includes the drill bits needed to create the perfect size hole for them to rest in.They are lightweight, but do not feel easy to bend, which is a plus with my very grandchildren lol. They have a smooth slight texture to them that looks sleek. They do have a line down the side of them that can be noticeable and very bright sun, but not so much when installed.My husband is happy that they are easy to install so that I do not need his help. These will really update the look of my stairs and add value to our home.They are a great price for how many you get in each pack.
