As the advertisement states, this is only compatible with the Delta R10000 valve kit. This is not what I had but I knew that, so I also purchased one of those valves. I expected to just switch out the valves and then install the trim kit, but it was far from that simple. I think that had a lot to do with whoever had installed my original valve and trim, and was not really any fault of this trim kit.There were instructions included, but in my opinion they were not very helpful. I have replaced bathroom and kitchen faucets but I'm not a plumber, and I could have used more guidance than what was provided. There were several little baggies full of parts included in the box and it took more time than it should have to figure everything out. Maybe that's on me, but not everyone who purchases this kit is going to be an expert handyman. I was also really surprised that there was no thread seal tape included. Literally everything that I have purchased with any type of threading always comes with more than enough thread seal tape (luckily, because I had to use some that was left over from a different recent purchase.)As far as looks goes, this is a beautiful trim kit. The matte black finish is smooth and even along every part of the trim that you will be able to see. Every piece is solid, heavy, and elegant. I was slightly concerned that the arm might not be quite sturdy enough for the heavy shower head, but so far it has supported the weight without issue. Everything works as it should.This is my first experience with a rain shower head so I don't have anything to compare it to. The flow is definitely more gentle than my previous shower head- it feels like there is less pressure. However, I assume that's normal and it's supposed to feel like a gentle rain, not a severe thunderstorm.
