The wooden handle doesn't seem overly durable but this is the type of knife more likely to be displayed than used. It was a gift for Dad, used as intended on Father's day. But this would be fine for a birthday or whatever occasion to show love for father. The knife has good sharpness and I don't know if it will hold an edge because I have it on display. It's easy to use and locks open solidly. Definitely a good value for money because it is an inexpensive gift that expresses a beautiful sentiment.
