The big thing here is that you have to understand the current capacity of various wire types. If I had purchased this for use with speakers, I would have been very disappointed. But it's 18Ga CCA... this is -not- what anyone should be buying for speaker wire unless it is a very, very low power system.If you're looking to supply power to led lights, small display panels (such as volt meters, clamps, dB meters), or even remote on signals, then you've found a great looking solution at an exceptionally great value. My one criticism is that the wire is a little difficult to split down the middle, but that's a minor complaint at this price point.Highly recommended for the right applications. This wire looks great in my current car audio build and will undoubtedly see me through several builds in the future.

I picked this up for low-voltage wiring around my workshop and have already used it to build a portable battery tester with DT-style waterproof connectors. It has been easy to work with so far.The pearl blue jacket is easy to spot, and I like that one conductor is smooth while the other has molded ribs. That makes identifying polarity simple without having to trace the wire every time.The insulation is noticeably thicker than many 18 AWG cables I've used. It split cleanly between the conductors, stripped without trouble, and the stranded CCA conductor crimped securely into ferrules and soldered well. The thicker insulation did make fitting some compact DT-style connector cavities a little snug, but it also filled the connector seals nicely for a secure fit.The cable is flexible with about the amount of coil memory I'd expect from a fresh spool, and it straightened out well during use. The jacket markings are clear, making it easy to identify the wire later if needed.Overall, this has been a good-quality 18/2 CCA cable that was easy to terminate and install, and I'd buy it again for the kinds of low-voltage projects it was designed for.

I do a lot of electrical work, both high voltage and low voltage, so I always have a use for wire. I keep different gauges, colors, and types around because the right wire depends on the project. Sometimes I need heavier wire for higher-current DC work. Sometimes I need outdoor-rated cable. Sometimes I need plain low-voltage wire for lights, small accessories, speakers, electronics, test setups, or temporary projects.When I saw this pearlescent blue 18 gauge 2-conductor wire, I wanted to try it because it looked different from the usual basic red/black or white-jacketed wire. After testing it, I like it. Having the two conductors joined together keeps the run cleaner than using two separate loose wires.The 18 gauge size is also a good middle ground. It is more substantial than very thin hobby wire, but still flexible and easy to route. It is not heavy cable, and it is not meant for big loads, but it is a useful gauge for a lot of small projects. I like keeping wire like this around because it fills the gap between tiny electronics wire and larger automotive or power wire.The jacket feels decent. I would not call it premium industrial cable, but it is perfectly acceptable for the kinds of projects I would use it for. It strips and handles like typical low-voltage wire. For 100 feet of 18 gauge 2-conductor wire, the value is fair, but not amazing. Plain 18 gauge wire is easy to find, and if appearance does not matter, there are plenty of basic options. The reason to buy this particular wire is the pearlescent blue look. If you want that color and finish, the value makes more sense. If you only need basic wire and it will be hidden, I would probably compare cheaper standard wire first.I would call this more of a specialty appearance wire than a bargain bulk wire. It works like wire should, but the visual finish is the feature. For certain projects, that is worth paying a little more for. For other projects, it does not add much.I also like that the color makes it easy to identify. In a shop or project bin, a distinctive wire is easier to spot. The wire strands are thick, not to the point of stiff, but thicker than name brand speaker wire.The sheathing is stiff and feels very cheap.It's 2 strand and it's 18gd, but I wouldn't recommend as "speaker wire", maybe for low voltage.Just not very good, especially at this price.

Needed some speaker wire to power some smaller speakers, so 18 AWG was what I had in mind for about a 20-foot run, and this wire did fine with plenty of power transfer at that size and distance. Upon measuring the thickness, the wire came out to 0.036 inches, which is slightly below the true 18 AWG gauge spec of 0.0403 inches. While that technically makes it closer to 19 AWG, it is still close enough to function well for light tasks.The copper-clad aluminum (CCA) composition is perfectly fine for applications like this and is much more cost-effective than pure copper. This material choice means the wire is highly flexible and easy to route around tight corners. It handles up to 10 amps maximum, though it is best kept to a continuous load under 6 amps to prevent over-heating. The pearlescent blue jacket is thick enough to protect the internal strands while remaining easy to strip with standard tools. Here is something you might find helpful: make sure to account for the CCA material by avoiding high-voltage or long-distance outdoor runs where pure copper is usually required.
