I wasn't really sure what to expect from this bulb, but I've been pleasantly surprised with it. The first thing I noticed was how bright it is. At 1300 lumens, it puts out plenty of light and can actually be used as a normal everyday light instead of just being a color-changing novelty bulb.The different colors are a lot of fun. It's nice being able to change the mood of the room depending on what we're doing. The regular white light works well when I actually need to see, and then I can switch over to one of the colors when watching TV, gaming, listening to music, or just relaxing in the evening.The colors are bright and look good, especially when the room is darker. I've tried several color-changing bulbs over the years where the regular white setting was way too dim, but that's not really an issue with this one. That's probably what I like most about it. I don't have to choose between having a useful light bulb and having the color-changing features.Installation couldn't be much easier. It screws into the socket just like a regular bulb, and I had it working within a couple of minutes. It's also nice getting the brightness of a higher-wattage traditional bulb while only using 12 watts.I've used it quite a bit so far and haven't noticed any flickering or other issues. The bulb doesn't feel cheaply made, and everything has worked the way it should.Overall, I'm really happy with it. If you're looking for a color-changing LED bulb but still want something bright enough to use as your regular room light, this is a good choice. It's bright, the colors look nice, and it's an easy way to change the atmosphere of a room without installing separate LED strips or other lighting.For the price and brightness, I think it's a good value and I'd definitely consider getting a few more for other rooms.

I installed these color-changing LED bulbs in the lamps in my living room, and my children immediately loved them. They enjoy changing the colors while watching movies and creating different lighting depending on what they are watching or the mood they want in the room.The remotes are more than a novelty in our house. Our living room is split-level, and the lamps and their switches require going down the stairs to reach them. With the remote nearby, I can turn the lights on or off and adjust them without repeatedly going up and down the steps. That has made the lamps significantly more convenient to use.The ability to control the brightness and color also makes the bulbs more versatile than standard light bulbs. We can use regular lighting when we need to see clearly, lower the brightness for television or movies, or select a color for a more entertaining atmosphere. The controls have been easy enough that the children can operate them without assistance.The bulbs have worked well so far, and both the lighting effects and remote-control feature have been useful. I picked this up because I saw it appear on vine and I thought they would be fun to play with. Little did I know at the time, but I have a practical use for them.The items were packaged in a branded box common for light bulbs. It had a divider on the inside to keep the 4 bulbs from hitting each other. You get 4 bulbs, 2 remotes (w/ batteries), and some simplified instructions.The light bulbs are controlled by the remotes and have a default state of on + bright white when you first plug them into the socket.There are different fun modes in changing colors, brightness, setting timers, themes, sleep/dimming mode, delay off, just to name a few offhand. The tiny leaflet instruction manual does actually a pretty good job summarizing the modes.For me, the surprise star of the show is setting 1 of 3 normal color modes (think... cool, normal, warm) and adjusting the brightness in them. I have a ceiling light just behind my chair to my desk (it's a fairly low ceiling, so I can get to the light fairly easily... the only struggle is putting a bulb in/out w/o taking off the cover). What I end up doing is running 1 bulb normally but leave another bulb mostly unscrewed, but when I'm working on something where I need more light, I screw in the other bulb fully. Using just one of these in place of the bulb I screw/unscrew, I don't need to do that anymore, and I was able to get the color match perfect with the other bulb. Now I can turn on/off the extra bulb at will w/ the remote and even change the color/brightness if I need.The only odd thing I noticed if putting it into a switched socket is that when turning the lights on after a long time of them being off, it seems to remember the color state it was in, but not the on/off state. Turning the lights off and on quickly seems to not affect the on/off state. As long as it remembers the color, I'm fine with that. I'll probably switch over to using both of these bulbs in the future, but at a dimmer state.I personally like that these have remotes vs WiFi. In fact, that is part of why I am giving these a great review. No messing around w/ questionable apps. Just push a button on a remote and it works. I really like the simplicity of it.For the current price of $27.99, I believe these are worth it as it just works.

These color changing light bulbs are SO FUN! They are exactly what I wanted, and all four bulbs work perfectly straight out of the box with absolutely no issues. A fantastic surprise is that the pack actually comes with two separate remote controls instead of just one, which I thought was great so you can keep backups in different areas!They are super easy to twist into the sockets, and the absolute best part is that they don't need WiFi to work at all! The last set of smart bulbs I owned required a wireless connection, and my home WiFi signal was actually too strong for them, making them completely incompatible. This light bulb set comes with 4 LED bulbs that screw in like regular lightbulbs and two remotes. I was surprised that the bulbs are made of plastic (not glass) and aluminum. I guess that means they don’t break in shipping!A small user manual is included. For your information, the fourth row down buttons are for preset modes, first Cool (purple), then Romantic (green) then your choice (multi colors). The fifth row down on the remote are the CCT buttons that change the white color temperature from warm to cool.You must physically turn on the lamp with this bulb in it and then you can use the remote for different colors and other options. The bulb ‘remembers’ the color and brightness it had when turned off and will go back to that setting when turned back on.For brightness, the remote has buttons for 100%, 30% and 0.1% but the brightness is also adjustable with the large and small ‘Sun’ buttons on the left side of the remote, for 100%, 80%, 60%, 40%, 30%, 20%, 10%, 5%, 3%, 2%, 1%, and 0.1%. These levels work with both white and colors, although the dimming is not as noticeable with colors.Note that the bulbs are dimmable only with the remote. They should not be installed in a circuit with an external dimmer switch. Also note the bulbs work only with the remote, and do not work with voice assistants like Alexa or Google. There are timer options on the remote.The colors are lovely and not hard to select. These bulbs are not quite as easy to get started with as the voice controlled kind, but they work well with many options once you know how. The seller was quick to respond and quite helpful when I had questions. The remote takes a few minutes to learn but then all the controls are right at your fingertips. It’s fun to change the colors!

tldrthere are several kinds of LED bulbs. Each has an application.These are remote controlled RGB bulbs with high light output that don't depend on the internet or apps or anything but their provided controller. They are a reliable brand I've used before and while more expensive than some bulbs are a good value.I have replaced all of my incandescent bulbs with LEDs which I hope most people have by now.I got a bunch of super cheap bulbs from walmart which the state I live in subsidized to make the transition easier. (subsidies are long gone now.)I have been replacing most of them with alexa enabled bulbs which are more expensive but I think in the long run are actually cheaper.Types of bulbs:-Cheapo standard bulbs-Wifi enabled bulbs-BLE/Bluetooth/BRMesh.-Stand-alone Remote control RGB bulbsThe cheap standard LED bulbs burn at their max and often last a year or less.Wifi bulbs work with alexa and Google home and can be set to burn at lower brightness (eg. 80%) which I believe extends their life. They are 3-5x the price of cheap bulbs but they last much longer. When there is a power outage, I often have to reconnect the bulbs. With Smartlife compatible bulbs, it is a matter of adding the device using the Smartlife app. It remembers the name of the bulb so it's not too hard. (I've used MagicHome compatible bulbs but I've had major troubles reconnecting them after a power outage so I avoid them now.)BLE/Bluetooth/BRMesh bulbs work like Wifi bulbs but they don't rely on the internet and the company producing them to function. They rely in the internet if you want to control them through Alexa, but if the internet is down they can be controlled through the brmesh app. They also don't lose their setup when their is a power outage. If the BRMesh bulbs disconnect (which they don't often do), I just tell alexa to 'discover device' and it reconnects. THey usually just work (and don't go into a irritating flashing setup mode like Wifi bulbs often do.)These UCB bulbs are not cheap bulbs, wifi bulbs, or BLE bulbs. They are controlled exclusively by their physical remote control. They are good for situations when a bulb may not be easily accessible or being used by someone who doesn't want to deal with an app. Since I can run them at less the 100% brightness, I expect they will last a long time. And they can be set to what ever color makes sense for the situation.I've been transitioning to the BLE bulbs because I have less problems with them after power outages and hopefully they won't be useless if the manufacturer goes out of business. There are a few situation where I want to be completely disconnected from the internet but still have more than basic functionality. I also like these bulbs because they are brighter than many and give me options for how bright to make them without maxing them out. The BLE bulbs I've been using are all UCB brand bulbs like this and they have been reliable so I feel confident these bulbs will be also.
