I’m very happy with this AIDA 15A GFCI outlet and weatherproof cover. The installation was straightforward, everything fit together well, and the cover feels solid and well made.I used it for an outdoor installation, and I like having the GFCI protection and weatherproof cover together in one package. The finished installation looks clean and professional.Good quality, easy to install, and a good value. I would purchase it again.

A you can see, my front porch outlet needed some serious upgrading. Pretty sure it was installed with the house when it was built in 1983. What should have been a seemingly simple swap was anything but. As there is limited space on the sides, I thought I would just push the wires in through the back, tighten the screw and call it good. Well, no matter how much I tried, the wire would only go in about 3/16". So, on to Plan B....I stripped the wires as usual, curled it and attempted to place it behind the screw. Well, easier said than done. The screw would not hold in the open position, so I had to turn the outlet on it's side, let gravity hold it out, then place the wire. Not much fun trying to connect it upside down. Finally got it wired up and secured. All seemed fine. Went to install the foam gasket and the cover. In all my years of installing waterproof covers, I have never seen one that had to be placed with a certain end on top. Slight setback, but found it odd. As you can see, the outlet works fine and the breaker pops/resets as it should. I will say that the price is very reasonable given you the GFCI and the weatherproof cover. Overall, I think they had a good design in mind, but the wiring obstacles made the job much harder than it should have been and extra time out in the Florida heat was not welcomed.

So after I was hood winked at an orange store by a contractor who talked me into buying big (and pricey) bulky brown translucent plastic covers for my exterior outlet boxes I learned a lesson. Bigger and more expensive doesn't mean better.Within a year I was having trouble with my breaker flipping on one and after inspection all three were not sealing well letting rain water in. What a waste of time and money.So, I went back to that store and found some metal hinged covers a lot like the ones that I remembered on our house when I was a kid but they weren't priced competitively there.So I looked on here on and found these. I was so impressed by the quality of the build and the seal and the real metal construction that after installing the first one I went ahead and bought two more and installed them also. I haven't had any problem since. This is the quality product.Plus it doesn't stick out from my house like 5 inches. It's clean and sleek and blends right in instead of looking like some dumb plastic bubble on my house.They were easy to install, and they blended right in with the exterior of my house while also functioning perfectly. The build is strong and smart and should stand up to years of use and abuse.

I purchased and installed two of these on the outside of my house, and they are working great. The weatherproof cover is spring loaded and stays shut when not in use, even in strong wind. It also comes with a gasket to keep the rain and dirt out of the outlet box. Truly a great value for the money.

box was a good choice next to a sink and shower where water sometimes splashed out. Now outlet is protected and gfci doesn't get tested accidently.
