These are some super heavy duty casters that will see service in part of my Lapidary Saw room. I have a rather "smallish" area that houses several diamond blade saws, and to make a better use of that space I had to mount the saws on wheels. Some saws are in the 600 to 700 pound weight range while others are tabletop saws that weigh 200 pounds or less. With a weight capacity of 4,400 pounds, these casters will be a bit of overkill for my big saw, but at least I won't have to worry about the wheels collapsing under the weight.I do like that the wheels have locks on the swivel wheels to keep the wheels from rolling or swiveling when that saw is in position for being used. The fact that these are 3-inch diameter casters they won't raise that machine too high and make loading and unloading the saw difficult to deal with. A baggie of hardware is packed in with the casters to include wood screws and flat washers. Also included is a small Phillips Head Screwdriver, emphasis on the word "small." I will put that screwdriver in my junk tool drawer. Installation should be fairly straightforward if you are using the included hardware. I am looking into mounting these wheels in a different way which will better suit the way I need to attach them. As far as operation is concerned, the wheels turn freely and the locking mechanism holds both the swivel and rolling of the wheels seemingly well as I have not tested them under a load yet. The only possible Achilles heel for the locking casters is the plastic brake locking/unlocking plate which is made out of some kind of plastic. I can only hope that it does not develop a crack and break off while applying the brakes or releasing them. A metal brake actuator plate would have been a much better solution. For now, I am pleased with these casters, but they won't get the full test until I get them installed. I will update my review if there are any issues once that is completed.
