Well made, thick metal and nice paint job. These may work great for most; for my particular tastes, the cap does not have enough depth and height to 'stand out' on the top of a fence post.If you like the style, these are awesome and will, most likely last a long time.Be aware, there are sold individually, so, depending on how many posts you have, it adds up. Easy to install, just pop it onto the top of the post and screw in (screws included). Adds a classy, 'finished' look to a basic fence design.

My mailbox did not survive the winter, getting hit by a plow. I replaced it in early March with a 4x4 post and black metal box. Early June, I noticed the top of the 4x4 post was looking a bit swollen and feeling a bit soft to the touch. It is pressure treated wood! I saw this cap as the solution to the problem. I was able to cut an inch off the top of the post and attached this cap. It fit perfectly - snug and no play. I used the included screws to attach it. With the cap on the post, there is no place for water to stand or soak into the wood fibers. I expect the post to last a long time, unless another plow has other ideas.

I was impressed with the quality of this post cap as soon as I took it out of the package. It's made sturdy and feels much heavier and better constructed than a similar one I purchased from Lowe's a few months ago.The black finish looks great and gives the post a clean, finished appearance while providing solid protection from the weather. Installation was quick and the included screws made it easy to secure.The single-pack price is a little on the expensive side, but if you buy the 4-pack, the cost per cap becomes much more reasonable. Overall, this feels like a well made product that I would definitely recommend if you're looking for a quality upgrade over the cheaper options available at most home improvement stores.

The cap fit my 4x4 wooden posts exactly as advertised. 4x4 posts are actually 3.5-inch x 3.5-inch, so the 3.6 x 3.6 advertised size of these caps fit perfectly; not too loose, but to tight. The steel feels sturdy and durable. The included screws made installation quick and secure; and the screws are small enough that they didn't require pre-drilling a pilot hole for installation. We had an incredibly strong storm come through the area recently with high winds and heavy rain, and the caps stayed firmly in place. The black powder-coated finish looks clean and modern, and it gives my fence posts a much more finished appearance. They not only improve the look of the fence but also help protect the tops of the posts from weather damage and moisture that could case splitting. I previously had similar shaped plastic caps on the posts, but they weathered (faded and split) in just a few seasons. I'm anticipating that these zinc caps will last much longer.

These fence post caps fit perfectly on my standard 4x4 lumber posts—no gaps, no forcing them on, just a clean, snug fit right out of the box. The finish is a nice glossy black that gives the fence a more finished, upscale look rather than just bare wood posts.I also appreciated that they included the mounting screws, so I didn't have to make an extra trip to the hardware store or dig through my toolbox for the right size. Made installation quick and easy.The metal itself feels sturdy—decent gauge steel that doesn't flex or bend when you press on it, unlike some of the lower quality caps I've seen. The cap itself is well made. The steel feels solid, the finish looks good, and it fits the post as expected.Unfortunately, my package was missing the mounting screws. The cap already has pre-drilled holes, so it’s clearly designed to be secured with screws, but none were included.I also wish the screws were hidden once installed. With this design, the screw heads remain visible, while other manufacturers do a better job concealing the fasteners for a cleaner look.Overall, the cap is good quality, but the missing hardware and the visible screws take away from an otherwise nice product.
