Tell It Like It Is
A sturdy set of casters for your project.A sturdy set of casters for your project.

[Size: 2" Caster 3/8in Stem, Size: 2" Caster 3/8in Stem]
These are nice sizeable casters that I plan to add to a bookcase I'm building (keeping in mind the 600 lb. combined weight limit). The 1" shank will be more than enough to secure to the wood and the 3/8" is substantial enough to handle the job. The package comes with a wrench to secure the casters and the 'brakes' are on all 4 wheels. Though they are plastic, they are thick enough not to break off and secure tight if you don't plan to keep locking and unlocking an item daily. The wheels are a dark brown-almost black and the 'hubs' are a lighter medium coffee brown. The wheels themselves are a rubberized material which will be quiet when rolled across the floor. I couldn't ask for anything more.

Heavy-Duty Mobility Upgrade Offering Silent, Floor-Protecting Glide (see photos)Heavy-Duty Mobili...

[Size: 2" Caster 1/4in Stem, Size: 2" Caster 1/4in Stem]
When shopping for a rugged hardware upgrade that masterfully balances effortless mobility with robust, physically reassuring composition for heavy workshop gear, this custom-fit replacement stem caster wheel set stands out as a stellar choice of compact size. I recently used this four-pack bundle to replace the worn-out wheels on our portable generator, and the overall premium material quality completely blew us away given the highly competitive price. The housing construction utilizes heavy-gauge steel with zinc plating, delivering an exceptional 600-pound load capacity that provides outstanding sturdiness and is engineered for serious longevity to guarantee long-term durability. Featuring soft thermoplastic rubber (TPR) treads, these brown wheels glide silently across hardwood, tile, or epoxy garage floors without creating a single scratch. Its specific American thread standard 1/4"-20UNC x 1" stem dimensions ensure a perfect fit that screws seamlessly into pre-tapped equipment sockets, making the tool-free installation a total no-brainer that takes less than ten minutes. The clean finish and solid build give the entire setup a professional appearance and a satisfyingly sleek aesthetic that instantly modernizes any rolling cart, workbench, or toolbox. Swiveling a full 360 degrees on double ball bearings for a completely smooth operation, they react instantly to sudden direction changes, while the integrated all-brake locking mechanism engages tightly to hold heavy gear perfectly stable on slight inclines. This heavy-duty wheel kit represents an exceptional savings and a highly recommended, affordable investment for any workshop project requiring smooth, dependable movement. To closely evaluate the thick steel frames, the smooth rubber tread, and the exact real-life visual scale of these threaded rollers, please take a look at my closeup photos against a common quarter.Highly recommended.Cheers,Axum

Compact Casters That Roll Quietly and Lock Down Well

[Size: 2" Caster 3/8in Stem]
These 2 inch threaded stem casters are a solid fit for a workbench or shop cart that needs mobility without adding much height. The 3/8 inch 16 UNC stems threaded cleanly into standard inserts, and the included wrench was handy for snugging everything down without grabbing another tool.On a loaded workbench, the rubber wheels roll smoothly across sealed concrete and stay much quieter than the hard nylon casters commonly used on utility carts. Small cracks and expansion joints still come through because of the 2 inch wheel diameter, but the softer tread takes a lot of the clatter and vibration out of moving the bench around the shop. The swivel action is smooth as well, so changing direction in a tight area does not require dragging or fighting the cart. Each caster has its own brake pedal, which is useful on a bench that gets repositioned frequently. Once all four are locked, the bench stays planted during light assembly and tool work. The metal caster frames feel substantial for their size, and the zinc plated finish gives them a more finished appearance than the thin stamped hardware found on many small furniture casters. These are a better choice than hard plastic wheels for a shop bench because they run quieter and are easier on coated floors. Larger 3 inch casters will roll over cords, floor joints, and debris more easily, but they also raise the working height considerably. These 2 inch wheels are a good compromise when keeping the bench close to its original height is important. For a four caster set at around twenty dollars, the combination of threaded stems, individual brakes, rubber tread, smooth swiveling, and a claimed 600 pound total capacity gives the set good value for a medium duty workbench or cart.**Pros**• Quiet rubber tread on concrete and other hard flooring• Standard 3/8 inch 16 threaded stems• Brake on every caster• Smooth swivel movement in tight spaces• Keeps added bench height to a minimum• Sturdy metal housings• Installation wrench included**Cons**• 2 inch wheels do not roll over cords or larger floor joints as easily as 3 inch casters• Small wheel size is better suited to smooth floors than rough shop concrete• Four separate brakes take a little more time to lock and release than a centralized caster system

Easy rolling and solid locks

[Size: 2" Caster 5/16in Stem]
I had the 2" casters with 5/16" threaded stems as part of the Vine program. These are nice medium duty casters. With the size I would not call them heavy duty, although for a 2" wheel they do support plenty of weight. The nylon wheels roll quietly and smoothly, the fit on the stems was perfect, and although the narrow wrench isn't super strong, it fits easily between the bottom of my cart and the wheel. It was nice that it was included. For the price these are a great value, it's also nice that all the wheels in the set have brakes. You really only need two brakes on a cart or platform, but it saves time when you can hit a brake no matter what side of the cart you are near.I was pleased with these wheels and would look for them again. Five stars.

Brakes are a little hard to move at first but improve with useBrakes are a little hard to move at...

[Size: 2" Caster 3/8in Stem, Size: 2" Caster 3/8in Stem]
These are solid little casters. I deducted a star because two were fairly easy to lock but the other two were much more difficult. I was concerned I could end up bending the brake piece before I could get the brake to engage. They were equally challenging to unlock. I tried WD-40 Specialist Silicone on one. It made it noisier. I found that after repeatedly working them the brakes became easier to engage/disengage. The brakes lock the wheel only, not the swivel, which is fits in with the pricing. The wheel seems pretty quiet.I don't know if I would try to use them to support 600 lbs; maybe about half that. I have lots of metal shelving that uses casters with 3/8 stem. I should probably have ordered larger casters but I think these should work fine for those shelves as well as other pieces of shelving, etc. that I want to be able to move around freely.Overall I think they're a good value.

EXCELLENT ADDITION TO KITCHEN TABLE

[Size: 2" Caster 3/8in Stem]
These have been put to excellent use on our teak kitchen table.Because I use it for so many different things, it gets moved quite frequently, even if it is just a few inches. It also has built-in extension leaves, which we use primarily when we have informal gatherings. These casters not only make the task much easier, to the point that I can do it myself, but it also is much easier on the table legs.I couldn't be happier with these, and I wish I would have done it years ago.

A 15-Minute Fix That Actually WorkedA 15-Minute Fix That Actually Worked

[Size: 1.5" Caster 1/4in Stem, Size: 1.5" Caster 1/4in Stem]
My 12-gallon shop vac came with hard plastic wheels that have annoyed me pretty much since it was new. They never rolled smoothly, they squeaked horribly, and grease, WD-40, and other lubricants didn't really help. Pushing it around always seemed to make the vac want to get stuck, fight with it, or even tip over.I originally wanted larger wheels for getting over the uneven floor in my garage and driveway, but I had several sets of casters sitting around and none fit. I decided to try these because they're threaded rather than the usual push-in style.I got the 1/4-20 thread size and installed threaded inserts into the existing holes in the shop vac. The new casters then screwed right in. Removing the old wheels, installing the inserts, and installing the new ones took less than 15 minutes. No other modifications were necessary, and they even include a little throw-away wrench to tighten the nuts. The wheels are about 1.5" in diameter and 3/4" wide. They're smaller than I originally wanted, but the description is very well documented in the photos. They roll very smoothly, even with a full shop vac. All four also have brakes, and everything feels solid and well made.I love when a fix-it job just works, and this was one of those. The shop vac finally rolls smoothly and silently instead of fighting me every time I move it around. That's exactly what I wanted.

Love being able to roll stuff without having to lift. Check dimensions of stem before ordering

[Size: 1.5" Caster 3/8in Stem]
These are ideal for the stainless-steel shelving and ordered them as I have some shelves without wheels. I couldn't check and see what the correct stem size was for the wheels on my shelves so, I went online and asked, "What is the most common size used on steel shelving?" The answer I got was 3/8". I discovered, too late, my shelves are not the standard sized ones, they're smaller and require a 1/4". So, I've now ordered this size with a #20 thread (the standard size not metric). It so happens, I have the larger steel shelving in one of my sheds so, I'll still be able to use this particular set of wheels. They are very strong and sturdy and each one has a brake on it to prevent the shelves from rolling away. I love being able to move my stuff easily without lifting it, so wheels are a very important feature for me. I think these will serve me well.
