If you've done any work with posts at all, you'll be immediately struck by how substantial these feel when you open them. They're heavy. Well constructed. The heavy stainless steel is cleanly welded and powder coated. I'm thrilled with the raised base to prevent water accumulation around the post base so I can use these on concrete and don't need to sink them. I'm using these to support a pergola off my mobile home and the pad extends that far out.As an aside, I've had a few post or beam supports from this platform where the manufacturers clearly didn't understand our measuring system here. These do fit snuggly like they should. All hardware is included. Well done.

These are excellent 4x4 post bases. The stainless steel construction feels substantial and heavy duty, and the powder-coated finish looks good while adding another layer of protection for outdoor use. Once everything is anchored down and the post is secured, the entire setup feels very stable. The 4x4 post fit is good, and I especially like the airflow channel at the bottom. Keeping the wood elevated and giving moisture somewhere to escape makes a lot of sense for something that's going to live outside year-round.Installation is pretty straightforward, and the multiple mounting points give you plenty of ways to secure both the base and the post. They're also versatile enough for fencing, railings, pergolas, mailbox posts, or other outdoor projects. They're not the cheapest post bases, but the quality, durability, fit, stability, and weather-resistant design justify the price. 5 stars.

I picked up this 2 pack of 4x4 post bases ahead of a pole building build out. I needed something to anchor the posts into the cement floor. I found this set, with the air flow channel to be a good option.Pretty much as pictured, these fit a 4x4 sized post. I am using treated posts since my environment demands it. What I like about the is base is that it keeps the bottom of the post up and off the ground; away from moisture and such. This should help prolong the life of the wood for sure.Installation of these bases is pretty simple. The hardest part will be drilling into the concrete. The do include all the necessary hardware, both concrete and lag bolts and drill bits. That was a nice touch. The bracket themselves feel heavy duty and durable. A relatively simple bracket design other then the bottom air flow gap. The fit the 4x4 size nicely. They are coated with a black powder coating. I don't have a ton of faith in this type of coating from experience with similar items. But it looks good and should wear ok for the time being.I find these to be a bit pricey for the what they are and compared to similar brackets. But they will work and provide a solid base for your 4x4 project.

A few years ago, I incorrectly installed my 4x4 porch posts by setting the metal anchors directly at ground level on cement instead of on raised concrete piers. That allowed standing water and moisture from the cement to stay in contact with the bottom of the posts, and after only a few years the wood started to rot. Before making the repair, I temporarily supported the porch roof so I could safely remove the damaged section of the post. From the listing photos, these post bases looked like they had a substantial opening underneath that would allow much better airflow, so I decided to order them. The first thing I noticed after taking them out of the box was just how heavy-duty they are. The stainless steel is thick, the welds look very clean, and everything feels extremely solid. They fit my 4x4 posts perfectly with no looseness at all. The black powder-coated finish also looks great and should help protect the metal for many years outdoors.Since only the very bottom of my porch post had rotted, I was able to splice in a new section instead of replacing the entire post. Once everything was repaired, these bases gave me exactly what I wanted by lifting the wood off the surface and allowing air to circulate underneath. I no longer have to worry about moisture becoming trapped against the bottom of the post again like it did before.I am extremely happy with these post bases. The quality is outstanding and they fit perfectly. I am certain the heavy-duty construction will last for many years. Considering the quality of the metal, the posts are a good value at its list price. I would definitely recommend them.

Excellent quality thick steel post supports for 4x4 nominal posts. These are black powder coated with a very good quality paint job. They come with lag bolts to bolt them down to wood and also with concrete anchors in case you want to bolt them to concrete instead. They also come with black lag bolts to fasten the 4x4 posts to the side of the bracket. I I guess you could also use these for 4x6 posts if you wanted to. These will keep your wooden post off the ground so they wont absorb moisture and rot. The quality on these are top notch, but they are a bit expensive in my opinion, but worth it in the long run.

I ordered Heavy Duty Air Flow Channel Fence Post Bases to help anchor my new screen panels intended to camouflage the A/C condenser. Since my yard is subject to frequent, and strong wind gusts, I needed post bases that would survive 40 MPH gusts without indecent. These post bases are heavy and made from stainless steel. Even the supplied concrete expansion anchors are stainless steel. They hold the 4x4 posts away from the ground so the chance of water wicking into the post from the bottom is greatly reduced.Using an SDS Plus drill and bit, the hole in the concrete was super easy to bore. A battery hammer drill, or even a cordless drill driver with a masonry bit will also do the job, so no specialized tools are required.I leveled the base by tucking nylon shims under the base, and torqued the expansion anchors for a strong, secure connection. The 4x4 PT posts easily fit into the base, and didn't need much adjusting to ensure a plumb installation. The manufacturer includes black screws to attach the post to the base, but I substituted with a more aggressive fastener, given the environment.A standard vinyl post sleeve will not cover the post base, but, with a few well placed cuts, the post cover can be made to accommodate the extra girth of the channel base.I've used this type of post base in the past, but this brand offers more vertical attachment and support than the big box store offerings. This one is far superior. I highly recommend

All right, this thing is exactly what you hope it will be. It's a nice base that you can bolt down into concrete. And wood, and then put a 4 / 4 post in that to stabilize it to the ground. Now this has a inch and a quarter or an inch and a 1 rise from the bottom to where the 2A4 by 4 will sit. It is flat, black, and it is 8 inch steel. It comes with a driver bit and two different size drill bits to drill your pilot holes from the different screws, and it also comes with a lag bolt that's made for concrete. So once you drill your hole, dry these in, and you're good to go for the price. It's not bad cause it comes with everything. Including the drill bits and stuff, and also we'll save the bottom of your post from rotting, so it's a good thing to have, you know, the install is totally basic. But it will take some effort, especially if you're trying to retrofit, like a dry rotted, toast or something like that. Then, it might be a little harder. It's good money to spend, especially when it comes with everything. It's got

These things are monsters. My local hardware store for some reason never has them in stock so I've been stuck with only two for months waiting on two more to magically appear during one of my unrelated visits to the store. I wasn't sure what I'd get when I placed this order, but something is obviously better than nothing (hopefully) when a backyard project is indefinitely stalled due to local poor management or high demand. I was not disappointed with my order! As stated, these things are montsers. Be prepared for a very heavy box to arrive at your doorstep. Solid welds, thick metal and very nice black powder coating. The included hardware is fairly decent although I alread have my own to use for my specific needs. Not to say I wouldn't use the hardware included if needed. Nice touch that the two post bases are indiviudually wrapped in plastic and separated by foam for protection. Shows a company that cares about the arrival of their product at its final destination. I'm very happy with these 6x6 post base. No question they'll adequately and safely get the job done for our backyard pergola.
