My concern with ordering gold fixtures online is always the same — there’s classy gold, and then there’s “somebody spray-painted this in their garage” gold. Thankfully this landed much closer to the first one.What I like most is actually the combination with the frosted milk-glass shades. They soften the light and tone down the gold enough that the fixture doesn’t scream for attention. With one light pointing up and the other down, it also throws light differently than the typical bathroom fixture where every bulb is aimed straight at your face.Installation is basically what you’d expect from a hardwired wall fixture. Nothing about the construction gave me that cheap, flimsy feeling you sometimes get when you pull a decorative light out of the box. My only advice is to choose the bulbs after you see the fixture in the room. I tried lighting before where the bulb temperature completely changed how a gold finish looked, and warmer light definitely makes more sense to me with this style.It has a vintage look without making the room look like Grandma’s house, which is about the balance I was hoping for.

It came with all of the necessary installation hardware, and the installation was pretty straightforward.The price is about what I would expect for a single sconce—lighting definitely isn’t cheap—but I feel this one is fairly priced for the quality. The materials and finish look good, it feels solid once installed, and it gives the space the MCM look I was hoping for.
