The contractor who built my home didn’t add enough soffit intake vents and whoever installed the vinyl siding didn’t add any either so I got these vents for that purpose since they are heavy duty and well built. I used an oscillating multipurpose tool to cut 2 8x8 inch holes through both the vinyl and original siding. Then I used the provided screws in the package to secure them and they blend in very well with the siding. Took less than a hour to do both and when I hold my hand up to the vents I can feel the air being drawn in.I would not use them as gable vents but they work and look great as soffit vents.

Makes things look much better than a return HVAC vent hole, which was left open bare by contractors. The size is large enough to also cover up some plaster damage beside the large hole. This was thin enough so that I don't have to worry about whether or not anything in the back of this would cause installation issues.Maybe the only complaint is that I kind of wish these came in 1 packs as I don't need 2 of these. They do come with screws and those plastic screw inserts that you are supposed to put in the wall (I didn't use the plastic insert).
