I have both a front foyer and a back foyer in my house and both spaces are rather formal. They have marble flooring, including two sets of marble stairs in each foyer, along with large crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceilings. I recently replaced the wall light in my front foyer, which had been an old silver spotlight-style fixture. Since we do not use the back foyer nearly as much, I had no plans to replace the similar silver wall light in there. But as soon as I saw this crystal sconce, I knew I had to order it. It would make the back foyer look so much better, and the gold metal and crystal pieces would match the chandelier and the rest of the room perfectly.I was very impressed with how carefully the entire light was packaged inside thick protective styrofoam. Each of the crystal pieces was also wrapped separately so they could not rub against one another during shipping. I inspected every piece of crystal and all of the metal hardware, and I could not find one scratch or other imperfection. I attached a photo to this review to show you how the light arrived.This is a fairly elaborate light with a lot of individual crystal pieces, so it is not the type of fixture that you simply pull out of the box and immediately hang on the wall. But it was not difficult, and the included instructions clearly showed where everything belonged. I have installed other light fixtures with many more crystal pieces that required much more work and did not look nearly as good as this one. The little extra setup time was definitely worth it.The gold-colored metal has a smooth, even finish, and the crystal pieces have a good amount of weight to them. Nothing feels thin or cheaply made at all. Once everything is assembled, the crystals form several layers across the front of the fixture instead of looking flat against the wall. Even while the light is turned off, it looks like a stunning, decorative piece on the wall. And when it is turned on, the light reflects through the different edges of the crystals and creates an amazing lighting effect. It really does look great.The fixture uses G9 bulbs, which are not included. G9 bulbs are much smaller than the more common E12 or E26 bulbs, which allows them to remain hidden behind the crystals. And I liked that fact about it. There are still plenty of LED G9 bulbs available in different brightness levels and light colors, including warm or cooler white. Dimmable versions are also available and traditional halogen G9 bulbs can still be used. I chose warm white bulbs because the reflection looks best with the gold metal and the crystals.For a list price of $109, this light is an excellent value. The quality of the crystals and the gold finish and the amount of detail make it look like a much more expensive fixture. It completely changed the appearance of the back foyer and matches the large chandelier much better than I expected. It’s one of those light fixtures that you can’t help but to look at every time you walk past it.
