I love this thing! I have it mounted to my vanity and use it for multiple purposes. I use it for extra lighting for makeup and such, but it also is quick access for the magnifying glass such as threading a needle, removing a splinter, etc. It certainly has a heavier, solid weight to it, but the clamp is strong and sturdy enough to support it. The hinges are easy to move to you desired angle, but stiff enough to keep their form.

I like this light a lot. It provides three shades of light, even if you don't need the magnification. When using the magnifying glass, it is a huge help for detailing my models. The stand attaches firmly to my worktable. I'm pleased with the purchase.

This magnifier has been an incredible purchase for our family. My daughter is visually impaired, and the combination of the magnifier and built-in light has made a much bigger difference than I expected. She is completely blind in one eye and legally blind in the other. As a teenager she gets discouraged always having to ask for help. We mounted it to the desk under her loft bed, and it's given her a level of independence that means so much to her. She can now work on her artwork, journal, and enjoy other close-up activities without constantly asking for help or feeling frustrated by her vision.The light is bright without being too harsh, and the magnifier provides a clear, comfortable view. Everything feels well made, and it's been easy for her to adjust and use on her own.More than anything, I love seeing the confidence it's given her. Being able to sit down and create without feeling discouraged has been priceless. If you're looking for a quality magnifier for someone with low vision, I highly recommend this one.

Do wish the controls were on the lamp itself instead of the cord.* Value [8/10] - A little expensive, but still a good value.Overview:I've recently gotten into some wargaming (heaven help me, it's a deep hole to dive into!) and I'm using an FDM printer to print the minis and then I paint them afterward. As you might imagine, this requires some precision both for removing the supports and for getting the details right in the paint. Enter this item! It is extremely handy to have a light that also magnifies. I always use a lamp when I paint to see better, but the magnification lets me hone in and focus on those tight spots and the fine details. Granted, it does require some getting used to painting under magnification, but overall it works pretty well. If nothing else, the lamp portion of this is really nice with varying degrees of brightness and color temperatures. The mechanical arms are decent and have a fun aesthetic to them, but I do wish that the bottom set would allow for more positions and flexibility. The clamp is solid and allows the lamp to pivot even when tightened down, but it also has some padding so you don't have to worry about damaging the table or desk you clamp it to. Speaking of tightening, each joint also has a knob that you can use to tighten or loosen the joint to allow for more or less rigidity. The price is a tad on the high end, but you still get your value for what you pay here. I'm just stingy and would love to see this closer to $20.Hope this helps =)

Right out of the gate, I'll say that this is not the absolute best example of this type of product that I've come across, but for the price, it's actually really good. So, that's what I am basing my review on essentially, what you get for the price and the value for the money for the end buyer.First, I've gotten a lot of USB powered products from Amazon the last few months and this is the first one to actually include a wall-wart USB to electrical outlet adapter. Kudos for that! That said, I do think the cord should have been longer for really convenient placement. I ended up hooking this up to a 20 ft. USB extension cable to make this work in the area that I'm using it. So, bear that in mind.Now, for this lamp, everything runs a little smaller than other similar products I've seen in the past. The arms aren't terribly long, the glass isn't exceedingly wide or large, but everything is built very well. The base is robustly made and clamps onto a table with a nice amount of grip and force. The arms are adjustable to get the right tension and the ability to keep it in the position that you want. The fit and finish of the product is very sleek and clean.The glass was a nice surprise. It's actually glass and provides good clarity instead of the dull image provided by some other lamps of this type. On the flip side the light isn't blazingly bright, but it's good enough for what I need to do with my aging eyes.This is a solid, well-built piece for the price that seems pretty durable, has a very clean and polished appearance, and seemingly uses good materials in its construction. I think it's a great product depending on the task, and I think the price is very reasonable for what it offers. I'm liking it so far and I've used it for several jobs already including cleaning small gun parts, painting intricate parts of models, and using it to read tiny print on product labels. Getting old and having your vision go sucks, but this little item has definitely made a difference for me.
