First, this bracket is so much better than the cheap plastic or thin metal brackets that come with some fire extinguishers--if you are lucky enough to even get one.After opening the bracket, I thought the silly-looking knobby straps would be useless. But they work much better than I expected. There is enough stretchiness in the bands to allow nearly any size fire extinguisher to fit. The height also doesn't matter either.Fit and finish are high quality--no complaints there. The metal is not some cheap / thin metal that you can easily bend; it is built to last.This is a great bracket that will fit a lot of differently sized extinguishers--like the one you have now and they one you'll replace it with in the future, so there will be no need to buy another bracket.

Recently reconfigured my Transit connect and swapped out the partition behind the front seats because it had a jog in it making the passenger seat too cramped to be comfortable for any significant distance.The old fire extinguisher mount attached to the old partition had seen better days, so decided a new one was in order.Came across this one thankfully, because it is rock solid and holds the canister VERY securely, without any rattling or banging around. Nice.I really like the strap design too, though time will tell if it can hold up to some sun exposure without degrading. I do wipe them down with dash cleaner stuff that's supposed to prevent UV damage, so we'll see on that.Price may be a little on the high side, but this doesn't feel like some cheaply made excuse for a bracket. This thing feels well made and has solid metal welds.Very easily and highly recommended!!

This is a very well made, strong bracket for holding fire bottles. The design holds the fire extinguisher securely but also allows it to be release quickly if needed. It comes with hardware for mounting it on walls. I wanted to put this in my race trailer so didn't use the included screws but got my own self drilling metal screws so I could mount it directly into the framing of the trailer.As long as you have this well mounted it will do the job for fire bottles up to 5lbs. I like the construction and the clean design and the rubber bungees used to hold the bottle in place once mounted. It's a good looking, simple, strong design. If the arms were a bit wider, I probably could even fit a larger extinguisher in it...it seems plenty strong enough for a larger bottle but that would depend on it's shape.

I've been meaning to mount an extinguisher in my car in case of an emergency. Every car should have one. Glad this popped up as an item I could review.The bracket is made of steel and very sturdy. It's well engineered to cradle different sizes of extinguishers. I tried my 3lb and my 8lb. The 3lb was cradled perfectly. The 8lb kind of fit, but the arms on the side weren't long enough to cradle it well. Definitely best to stick to the recommendations and limit using this item to the 5lb and under size that it's designed for.I have mixed feelings about the rubber band style mounting system. Pros - Holds the extinguisher very securely, but it will still be easy to remove the extinguisher quickly during an emergency. They won't loosen up over time like straps can. Cons - Rubber degrades with age, exposure to sunlight, heat etc. There's no way that these rubber cords will last as long as a strap style extinguisher mount, but they are sold separately here on Amazon if they every need to be replaced.
