Semi Flush Mount Ceiling Light

I'm not sure why this is called 'semi-flush mount'. Something is either flush mount, or it's not. This is not. But I have really short ceilings, and this is high enough not to get in the way.It's pretty compact for a three-bulb design, which means it gives off a deceptively large amount of light, if you choose the right bulbs. I've installed this in an area that we use for reading, and for that, I can never have too much light. But the double shade means that the bulk of the light is directed downward, and not at the rest of the room. I get to read, and no one else has to shade their eyes.Installation isn't too bad. The video on the product page is quite helpful for that. And the safety cable (which holds it in place while you do the wiring) makes installation a one-person job.The look is absolutely classic, and would look great in all but the most sterile decors. (You know, the ones where all the walls and furniture are white, and everything else is stainless steel.) I call it a 'single-take' item: You notice it the first time you see it, and think something like "Oooh, that's nice"; and then you never notice it again.

This light is just what we looking for to change out an old boob light in the foyer. The semi flush mount allows a little drop without taking up too much head room in a standard 8-foot ceiling. The linen look finish of the fabric adds a softness to the brightness of the bulbs. The gold finish of the metal is the perfect shade; no yellow or orange undertones. Assembly was easy but a little awkward as there is no way to secure the larger shade to keep it from spinning. It does help to align the seams of both shades. Installation was simple, matching black to black and white to white. There is a green screw to which you can secure your ground wire if needed. Caution: make sure you install the base of the lamp with the shade seam in the direction you want it as the inner shade is not adjustable once attached. The picture is shown with 3-14w led bulbs.

This ceiling light was a classy and elegant upgrade to my dining room. I chose the brushed gold finish to coordinate with my existing decor, and it gives the room a polished, updated look without being overly flashy. The double-drum design has a nice modern feel while still being traditional enough to work with a variety of decorating styles.I also think it’s very reasonably priced for the overall appearance. I already had an existing electrical access point where I wanted the fixture installed, so installation was pretty straightforward for me and I didn’t need to call an electrician. Of course, if you aren’t familiar or comfortable with electrical installation, having a professional handle that portion is always the safer option.Overall, it looks more expensive than its price tag and gave my dining room exactly the elegant finishing touch I was looking for.

Went with this for a hallway fixture, and it looks way more expensive than it is once mounted. The gold finish and the linen drum shades give it a nice look. My complaint is with how the shades attach to one another. The outer and inner shades aren't actually secured to each other or the fixture. They just sit snug between two points on the center rod, held there by tension. Bump the fixture, and the shade can get knocked out of alignment or slide out of place. There's no clip, screw, or lock of any kind to hold it centered, so once it's mounted, you kind of have to leave it alone. Not a big deal because the only time anyone would make contact with it is when it's cleaned.Also, there's no bottom cover on the fixture, so you can see straight up into the shade and the wire frame is exposed from below. A cover on the bottom would've hidden that and also softened the light instead of it just glaring straight down.Still a good-looking fixture for the price; just handle it carefully during and after installation.

I ordered this 16-inch semi-flush mount ceiling light to upgrade the fixture in one of our guest bedrooms and I chose the gold option. It looks absolutely beautiful and gives the room a more updated and polished appearance. The fixture has a double-drum design with a linen fabric shade and a sturdy metal frame. I have been living with the same chandelier in my dining room that came with my house when I bought it 25 years ago. You know the type, simple, with 6 bulbs that simulate candles. It's not bad, but it just doesn't match my mid-century ranch house or furniture. I also have fairly low ceilings, so I had been thinking that a drum-style light that clings closer to the ceiling, in addition to something a bit more simple and casual, would make more sense.When I saw this semi flush-mount drum light, I knew it was for me. I love that it takes up less "visual space" in my tiny dining room, with its 16" diameter and under 13" vertically from ceiling to the bottom. It also gives simple yet elegant mid-century modern vibes. The two concentric shades definitely provide visual appeal. Plus it uses 3 regular size light bulbs, so no more having to buy expensive chandelier bulbs. You can choose either a black finish for the hardware or gold. I chose black because everything else in the room has silver tones, not gold ones. While I have not mounted it yet, I do believe that this will really make the room come together by contributing to the decor without dominating it.Now, one thing did surprise me, which is that it came in a relatively flat box and I thought it was going to be too small. It turns out that you have to do a little assembly, which I never imagined. To be honest, the manufacturer's listing does show a picture of the easy assembly, but I failed to see it. So I should have known. Basically, each circular shade has a wire structure and roll of stiff linen fabric that need to be put together. The linen comes with hooks on the inside to adhere to the metal structure, so it was actually quite simple and the parts all matched perfectly. My temporary fears melted away, as assembly was quick and easy. I am leaving installation to the professionals though.The real items very much matches the manufacturer's listing. This is a very nice light fixture, and perfect for my space. I also think it is a great value at under $50.

This gave my hallway a huge upgrade from our over 20 year old light fixture. It looks modern and really sets the tone of my overall home when you walk into the front foyer. It flows with our neutral walls and brown tones in the kitchen and throughout the first floor. I am very happy with this. I have wanted to upgrade with this style for over a year and finally got it and put it up.It is very easy to assemble and put up quickly. I already had the electrical box in the ceiling as I was just swapping out the old one so I didn’t have much work to do to get this up. I just watched a video on Amazon on how to do the simple assemble of a few items and it was together in no time. You basically just attach the fabric to the metal rings. It really looks great. I did make the seam lines of the fabric run on the side that faces the wall so it wasn’t so obvious. Just in case you need to think about that ahead of time and don’t do what I did and get it all up only to be a little OCD and take it down to position it just the way you want. Very beautiful light and it hugs the ceiling enough that I don’t feel that it takes up space. I may replace all of my upstairs hall fixtures with this light. I am very satisfied with the overall look and feel this brings to my home.
