I've used my share of speed squares over the years, but I've never encountered one quite like this. It's genuinely a super cool tool, packing a surprising number of features into its compact 8.5-inch frame. What immediately stands out is the array of precisely drilled holes, which allow me to make accurate marks at desired lengths without constantly repositioning the square.The integrated pin is a standout feature, especially when I need to control specific angles. It allows for precise layout and marking, which is incredibly handy for tasks that require more than just a basic square. I've found it particularly useful when trying to square things up on multiple axes, like ensuring workbench legs are perfectly plumb and square during assembly.My only minor gripe is that I haven't found an obvious spot to attach the little string meant to hold the pin. It's a small detail, but a dedicated anchor point would be a nice addition. Despite that, I'm still discovering all the ways this multi-angle ruler can streamline my projects. It's been super handy for precise layout and marking, making it a valuable addition to my workshop.

I am immensely happy with this square. It is very sturdy. It's made from a very substantial piece of aluminum so it's not going to bow on you from normal handling. If you drop, you are going to ding it and run the risk of some bending, but it takes any normal shop abuse you can give it. The locking pin for making off any angles off of 45 degrees is quite nice. A piece of nylon filament comes with the square so you can tie the pin to the square, but I found that it isn't long enough an attached it with some fishing line instead. There are three screws that hold the frame together. They are plenty strong but I found that they loosened easily, especially if you put it on something that vibrates. I went back and used some thread-locker and the problem is solved. The ruler is perfectly square, or at least to the level I could measure it, and that was to the half-second. It is also sizable enough to use on 2x4s and 2x6s. Transferring lines around corners is easy and accurate. The holes for drawing straight lines are a good diameter. large enough to get a pencil, pen, or awl through, but not too big to allow for a lot of slop when dragging down the length of a piece of work.

This is a solid square that will be a good addition to my toolbox. I have other squares but this design adds one significant feature -- the ability to trace a line precisely around a corner. When cutting 4X lumber with a circular saw or miter saw I need to mark and cut opposite sides, this square makes that easier.Assembly is quick and simple, the hex wrench is included which is fortunate because many people will not have the small size needed for the screws.The ability to trace parallel lines by putting a pencil through marked holes is interesting, however I have no pencil nor pen that will fit through the small holes and extend far enough to mark on the lumber (or whatever is to be marked). It would take a special mechanical pencil to work with the holes.There were no instructions included, there may be features and functions I have yet to discover.As previously mentioned in a review, contrary to the listing the pin easily falls out of the holes, rotating the pin does nothing. While a length of fishline is included and can be tied to the pin, there is no convenient way to attach the line/pin to the square. Using the pin in a marked hole is key to accurately tracing a line at one of the set angles. If you need to draw an angle other than one of the 14 marked on the square you will be out of luck (I have another square that does not have the holes for a pin but does have a mark for every degree from 0 to 90). And the lines marking the degrees do not extend around the edge so it is difficult to precisely align the angle without the pin. Once the pin is lost, which will almost certainly happen, much of the utility of the square will be gone.

Here's a very handy tool for DIYer's like myself. If you do some woodworking, i think you'll like this. The build quality is pretty good. Aluminum alloy, nicely anodized, and excellent laser-etched markings and scales (3 of them). One long ruler scale is 8.5" and the other is 7.5". I think it's a good size for a lot of projects. The 3 hex screws for adding the right angle piece are pretty soft and I stripped one as I locked it in place. It's easy to scribe lines with a mechanical pencil. I very much like the locating pin design for setting angles which works well. However, I would have liked to see a place to store the pin so it doesn't get lost. It falls out of every hole when turned upside down and would be a shame to lose it for no extra is included. I'm using a carabiner to keep it on the tool when not in use. It's a nice tool overall and reasonably priced.
