Unfortunately, this door latch replacement kit has the wrong size and shaped hole for the handle. And, yes, it’s completely my fault for not checking first.That said, it is very well-made, works smoothly and should be a great replacement for anyone whose door handle is equipped with the small square shaft. If you have a half moon shape on your handle shaft… Keep looking because this is not the latch you want.Installation would’ve been very easy and quick as it just involves un screwing a few screws, taking out the old latch and putting in a new one. Just be sure to check that you have the right item for your repair job.

I unfortunately didn’t notice at first that this latch isn’t meant for front entry doors, but the material seems solid and well‑made. Even though I can’t use it for the original purpose, I’ll still be able to use this set on an interior door. The brushed finish looks nice, installation is simple, and overall it feels like a sturdy replacement part.

I have been slowly replacing some of the hardware on the interior doors of my house, while teaching myself the intricacies of door knobs and related latching mechanisms. I wanted this part as it is compatible with a range of hardware: lever door handles, door knobs and handlesets as, to be honest, I wasn't certain what would work. In the end, it fit perfectly with one particular door. The experience has driven home for me the importance of measuring! This pack comes with everything you need on the latching end of things. I appreciated the protective film on the strike and latch plates: when you peel the film off, both surfaces are smooth and unscratched. Very happy.

I purchased this door latch as a replacement for one of the doors in our house. It was easy to install, fits the door well and works as intended. It was a good price and cheaper than buying a new doorknob set. I like the new nickel trim pieces as they match the knobs we have. Be sure to measure your old latch to make sure this will fit.

Seems to be a well made door latch replacement I took one star off because the Striking plate and latch assembly came and looks like it had been already used because there are installation scratches all over it (please see picture) that wasn't a main issue for me because it really is just going to be inside the door and I don't care what it looks like. It functions fine and does the job though I can't at this point give any sense of longevity because I just installed it

I got Nickel Door Latch Replacement with 8MM Square Spindle Hole in Nickel Color in August 2026. This does what it is designed to do, and does that well. It is easy to install with all parts included, and needed only a 45° turn makes it easy to open doors with this. Very happy with this overall - just make sure to measure everything before ordering!As for negatives, I am not sure why this is not suitable for front entry door, so it would have been nice to have been provided more details on why that is the case. I assume people who are more knowledgeable than I am in this space would know the reason, but I am in the dark on why that is the case. Still, not knocking off a star for that since the product description makes it clear not to use this for entry doors.As for the price, $10 list price feels okay for this.
