These are versatile tie down tensioners for a variety of uses. So far I’ve use them on tarps to protect some plants from summer heat, cover a hammock and hold down some kayaks on our storage rack. The maximum load for these tensioners is 150 pounds. The hooks are small and lightweight so they would be easy to carry on a camping trip. The storage bag is a nice addition and it holds the complete set easily. The rope is nylon and the ends have been heat sealed so they should be durable and fray resistant. The hooks have a solid looking pulley wheel and a spring loaded toothed grabber to hold the rope. There are eight teeth to hold the rope and they are small so it’s nice there are a lot of them to spread the load. There are no instructions and likely none are needed but it bugs me when a vendor can’t put something in the box to guide the user to at least basic functionality (how to tie a knot, how to contact the vendor, suggested maximum weight limit, how to store long term). My main gripe is that there’s one side of the rope to use that will hold tension and one side that won’t and without any guidelines someone is going to put a load on the side that won’t hold tension and the vendor could possibly prevent that happening with a simple instruction sheet.Be sure to put the load on the side of the hook opposite from the lever. Tighten the rope on the lever side. The teeth are aggressive so you should press the lever to be able tighten the rope and avoid fraying it.Overall this is a good kit for tensioning ropes for a variety of uses and it works well. Way better than trying to tighten ropes by hand.

This is one of those things that I didn't know I needed until I picked them up. I'm used to securing tent guys and loads with standard knots, and I'm not awful at it. I can generally make the thing stay put without much trouble - but it takes time to do. These are far quicker and easier, just press the lever, slide your paracord (either the included rope, or your own) in, and snug it down. You have the push the lever to move the rope in either direction, which surprised me (I was expecting it to tighten freely, but only loosen when you pressed the lever.) The build quality seems quite good, no rough edges, etc, and they seem quite strong enough to support any load you'd want to throw on paracord or nylon rope in the 1/4" range. I didn't get any slipping at all, even with my full weight on the rope in a loop.Overall, these just make working with thinner ropes like guy lines, tent ridgelines, etc a whole lot quicker and easier than the normal knots I'd use!

I didn't realize how thin these were when I ordered them. These will definitely be for light duty only when I use the. Other than their size, though, they seemed to be well made and should be quite handy for smaller projects around the house.

Awesome quick compact tie downs!

I’m pleasantly surprised with this product! Clips well made and function well. Cord is lightweight, but quite adequate for securing light weight items.

This set of guy lines with tensioners is as advertised. The 4mm diameter braided (w/core) paracord-style ropes are 10 feet long and have a reflective silver colored strand woven into them in a spiral pattern that stands out well in light, in all directions. The braid is tight, giving the cordage a slightly stiff hand (feel). You could easily use your own paracord with these tensioners, if longer lengths are needed. The tensioners are all plated metal as advertised. There are no sharp or unfinished edges. The gate spring is stiff but not hard to open. The gate opens a maximum of 0.9cm (~3/8"), with a 6mm free space to the top ID of the tensioner. The cord clamping lever also has a stout spring and opens just enough for 4mm cord to slide easily through. The roller is about 6mm (~1/4") wide with a maximum gap to the tensioner frame of 0.5mm, so cordage will never get caught between the roller side and the tensioner frame. The eight teeth on the locking lever aggressively hold the cordage when clamped down. The locking level must be raised for rope movement to occur in either direction. There was absolutely no slippage of the cord when the locking lever was in place. This is a very solid set of six units, with a good drawstring bag to store everything in. It is a worthy addition to the kit for tie down and guy rope needs.
