Silicone Door Kick Plate

I had looked around at purchasing one of those metal plates for the bottom of my door in the garage that leads into the house. I constantly find myself using my foot too help gently nudge the door open, but given my door is white those gentle nudges have left a mark. That being said I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg just to keep scuffs off my door. So when I came across this I figured it was worth a try. It was very easy to apply, I simply measured my door and then cut it accordingly. I found that I put the rounded edges where the door hinges are and the portion where I cut I just had it come right up even with where the door shuts so once it is closed even if the line is not perfectly straight You Don't see it. It has held on securely without any issue and has worked wonderfully. It's very easy to wipe off and clean as well. I had a couple inches left over so I actually put that up where the door handle is since sometimes I give a gentle nudge with my hand when not using the foot. Overall I definitely recommend this product. It's easy to apply, does its job and really good for the price.

My dog had already ruined my back door frame. As a temporary fix until we can replace it, we painted over it and added these silicone door lock plates. She doesn't even bother scratching at the door anymore.

Put this on the bottom of my front door to prevent my little dog from peeing and rusting my door it works great and since putting it on he has not even gone to the bathroom on the door

I ordered this silicone protector to cover up the damage my Mini Aussie did biting our door whenever we opened it for him to go out. (See photo with damaged door and backside of protector) I needed to cut the protector in half to fit. Regrettably there are no guidance grids on the back so when I cut through it the two pieces were crooked. (See photo with cut up protector and culprit dog) My fault, should have used a ruler. We put the crooked half up over the damaged wood anyway. It has stayed put for two days and our dog has not been able to pull it off with his teeth although he has tried. The protector was easy to handle and cut. It had a strong chemical smell that dissipated in a few days. It stuck easily. It feels strong and durable. The silicone material is thick. The appearance is just ok, but hey it’s a door protector! I took off one star because of the lack of guidance grids but other than that it has stopped our dog from biting the wood on our door while we look for a replacement. Cosmetically it looks better than the gnarled wood. Recommended.
