Perfect for replacing my pontoon trailer bunk carpet

[Color: 1 Pcs]
I got this staple remover for a job that is a little different from normal upholstery work. The old carpet on my pontoon boat trailer bunks is worn through and the wood is showing, so I need to strip off the old material before wrapping the boards with new bunk carpet. That old carpet is held on with rows of staples, and this is a much better tool for the job than trying to dig them out with a flat screwdriver and then fight them with pliers. The narrow forked tip is shaped to slide under a staple, and the angled end creates leverage to lift it while reducing the chance of gouging the wood. The metal shaft feels sturdy, and the ribbed handle gives me a comfortable, secure grip. It should also come in handy for pulling tacks, small nails, and staples from car interiors, furniture, and other projects around my garage. At $8.99, I think it is a good value for a simple specialty tool that can save a lot of time and frustration. The quality feels good and the design is practical for the work I bought it to do. I would overall recommend it!

There are a lot of reviews for this tool so I'll keep this one brief. Handle is about an inch in diameter but just a bit too short for my smaller hands at 3-3/4" long. The pry bar end is about 4-5/8" long with about 1" at 30 degrees from the tine apex to the fulcrum, which gives you ample leverage for staples. It's a pretty sturdy bar, square in shape and just under 1/8" X 1/8" and uncoated. So this thing is amply robust for the task of pulling staples. Comes packed in a resealable Mylar pouch.

This kit has exactly the tools you need for removing staples and the like. The set is a good price considering you get three tools. These are helpful for getting staples out without gouging the wood. You can only do so much with a screwdriver and pliers. They can be used for upholstery, but they can also be used for other projects, like removing staples that attach wiring, or removing auto trim plugs.I like the main, 8-inch, blue-handled tool for large, obvious staples and tacks. It is sturdy, heavy-duty, and has a large, easy to hold handle. With the slight bend in the tip, you can easily apply a bit of leverage to pop a staple or tack loose. The 9-inch, thinner, yellow and black-handled tool is for tiny staples. The tip is small and quite sharp. It can get under little staples or those deeply embedded in the wood. The thicker, 6.5-inch tool is for prying up staples and grabbing them as you lift. I haven't found it to be as useful as the other tools for my projects, but your experience with these tools may differ. All three tools seem to be of good quality. They are very useful for many types of projects. I would not recommend using them for removing nails unless the nails have a large head (like roofing nails), but they are great for staples, tacks, and other similar fasteners. My only complaint is that they do not come with a storage bag or case, and there are no instructions or tips for use. This was not a problem for me, but it might be an issue for some.(Full disclosure - I received this item as an Amazon Vine reviewer, but my review is 100% honest, objective, and based on actual use of the item.)
