Replacement Filter Compatible with Ridgid 72947 Standard Wet dry Vac 5

Used one of these filters as of now and it fits onto my shop vac just like the OEM filter does. After using the shop vac I still have the same suction that I had prior to the filter change. I also didn't notice any dust after using the shop vac for a while which is always a good thing as I do not want to end up like Pig Pen basting in the dust.

I recently replaced the filter on my Ridgid vacuum with this VF6000 5-layer replacement filter, and it has been a noticeable improvement. The fit is excellent—it slides right into the original filter position with no extra tools needed, making the installation quick and hassle-free.The 5-layer design feels more substantial than the basic filters I have used before. The pleated surface area is large, which gives me confidence that it can capture more fine dust and particles. After installation, my vacuum returned to normal suction performance, with no noticeable air leaks or loose fitting issues.For everyday cleanup, such as sawdust, garage dust, and small debris, this filter has performed very well. The exhaust air feels cleaner, and I have noticed much less fine dust being blown back into the room. I also like that it can be washed and reused—after cleaning, I can simply rinse it with water and let it dry before using it again.Every year around this time, I prepare my heating equipment for the winter season. I use my Ridgid vacuum to clean the fireplace and oil furnace areas, where the ash and soot are extremely fine and easy to spread. This filter has worked especially well for that job. With ordinary filters, some of the fine soot can escape through the exhaust and leave a dusty smell or mess behind, but this filter keeps the particles contained much better. The cleaning process feels much cleaner and more controlled, and the surrounding air stays noticeably fresher afterward.

I installed this VF6000 5-layer replacement filter in my 10-gallon Ridgid shop vac with cyclone and have used them for general shop cleanup and woodworking dust. They fit the machine without any force or modification and seat firmly in the housing the same way the original filter does.The five-layer construction traps fine dust better than the single-layer filters that came with the vac. After several sessions of sanding and sweeping up shavings, the exhaust air stays cleaner and the motor does not seem to work as hard. I have run the vac both dry and with a small amount of liquid, and the filters held up without collapsing or letting debris past the seal.These are a good deal compared with the branded Ridgid filters, and the quality is solid for everyday use. The material is sturdy enough that I expect to get good life out of each one. These filters do exactly what they are supposed to do in my woodworking shop and keep the machine running efficiently. I will keep a couple on hand as spares.
