I wish I would have known these existed sooner, but better late than never! We live in a mobile home that we ended up putting a metal roof on. That was roughly 4 years ago now and this past spring I had to buy new metal roof screw because while I was cleaning out our gutters, I happened to notice some of the screws were already rusting and needed to be replaced. After I install these screw caps I'll probably never have to replace the screws again! They seem to be very good quality metal. They are really thick and heavy duty. The seller was nice and included a pair of work gloves to! The only thing you will need it get is some sort of fast curing, weatherproof silicone to make sure you get a water tight seal.Highly recommend for anything that you may have outside with exposed screws.

Do you love you metal roof? We do and we love this extra protection. I have fixed many metal roofs leaks around the screw mounts. The rubber grommet on these screws ages (quicker than youd think) and become brittle especially when sitting in the full sun day after day. It’s bound to happen. When it does the small water leaks and rots out the wood underneath. If you’re luckily you catch it early but if not its a pain to remove a metal panel and patch the subroof. Just use these and solve the problem. It’s an easy install and will add a ton of life. Pro tip: Keep in mind ‘neutral-cure’ silicone is best for these caps because they maintain long-term flexibility and have UV resistance. Look at brands like DAP 100% Silicone Roof Sealant or GE Supreme. Look for labels that state "Neutral Cure" (sometimes listed as "Non-Corrosive" or "Safe for Metals"). Avoid "Acetoxy" or "Acid-Cure" silicone (which smell like vinegar), as the acetic acid released during curing can corrode metal fasteners and potentially void roof warranties. Pro tip2: Dont press too hard when sealing. You do not want to push-out all the sealant so it’s better to use a lighter touch and keep a good ring of sealant. Hope this helps and good luck with your project!

These are nice quality and the price is fair however, installation is not as easy implied on the listing, they do not simply snap onto the screw head quickly and firmly as the listing states, you actually must use an outdoor rated sealant such as silicone to stick them down. For us, that makes using these for an entire new metal roof installation impractical. They will serve a purpose to seal up any existing leaks on an older metal roof which we have. As a Vine reviewer products start with a rating of 4 stars, I give 5 stars for products that exceed my expectations, 4 stars for items that are fair to good quality with no obvious flaws or problems, 3 stars if the product doesn't meet expectations or has a slight problem but is still useable.I can still recommend these if you purchase understanding each and every cap must have a coating of sealant to do it's job.

These are nice galvanized metal covers for metal roofing screws. They are not stainless steel as the photo on the video suggests. It's hard to tell from the sellers description but you must use an adhesive to install them they do not "simply snap the cap onto the screw head quickly and firmly" as stated in the advertisement. A lot of people use silicone sealants to install them. They serve two purposes. If you install them when the roof is new they protect the neoprene from weathering and deterioration and they protect the screw head from rusting. If you have leaking screws already they can be used to cover the leaking screw and prevent further damage to the building. These are a little oversized for std. 1/4" and 5/16" head roofing screws but that shouldn't be a problem. The caps are easy to install. You simply make sure the screw and area to be covered are clean and dry. I like to apply a small amount of sealant smeared onto and around the screw head then nearly fill the cap with sealant and make sure to get some around the inside edges. Place the cap over the screw head and press into place. clean up any excess that oozes out. and your done. The gloves that come with them are typical Asian sized gloves that are not much of an added value in my opinion. The caps are good value and nice when installed.

Not totally sure just how these work or the best application approach. They are made from a nice thicker galvanized metal and appear to be made from quality material. They include a nice little pair of cloth and nitrile gloves which is always nice. They do state in the listing that they can be hammered on to certain bolt heads and they’ll just hold tight. I haven’t tried this yet but they do seem a little big for this. The caulk application seems like it may need continued maintenance and upkeep but does have the advantage of being potentially waterproof and most likely pretty good staying power/hold. I would purchase a high quality outdoor caulk that states it can withstand the elements. This would also probably be a case of less is maybe more, you’ll want a nice even bead around it and maybe even some in the middle to grip the bolt head for extra grip, without having any excess overflow coming out the edges. I think the more caulk that is exposed to the elements the fasted it tends to fail or separate from the surface, which then quickly affects all of the caulk underneath as well. Additionally, I’d highly recommend cleaning the surface of the existing metal in the contact area extremely well right before installing the covers, the cleaner this is the better hold you will get. These do seem a little on the large side so be sure to double check the listing measurement meet your requirements and other than that I think they’ll more than meet your expectations. Nice product that has a few different potential uses.
