The first thing I noticed about this set was the weight. The complete kit weighs in at around 17 pounds 5 ounces. I was expecting something much lighter. This thing is a monster that feels really well made.The case itself is a rugged thick blow mold plastic with metal latches and hinge pins. The case stays close and 98% of the contents stays put even with rough handling. They pack a lot of utility into a relatively compact size. The case measures around 17 inches wide by 13-1/2" by 3". The slots and sizes are clearly marked on both the case and the sockets.The entire set is 3/8" drive with adapters to adapt to other sizes. One of the cool things about this set is it's basically a combination socket socket and impact socket set. I've got a 1/2" drive impact but I can still use these the 1/2" to 3/8" drive adapter. I'm not a fan of too many adapters with impact wrenches, so this may be give me an excuse, I mean legitimate reason, to pick up a 3/8" drive cordless impact wrench I've been eyeing.The sockets come oiled to protect them from rust and corrosion and they also feature a nice black manganese phosphate coating. They all feature durable impact rated high torque Chrome molybdenum steel construction for strength and durability. They are 6 point hex sockets for maximum grip. One of my favorite features are the high visibility markings. The sockets and accessories have bright yellow/orange visibility markings on them that makes finding them much easier. Black sockets and tools have a tendency to blend in and disappear and the visibility markings do a great job of helping to prevent that. The socket size markings are embossed and filled with the same high visibility paint. The large size markings and high contrast fill makes these a dream to work with. No squinting or guessing with these sockets!This 67 piece set gives you a variety of shallow, deep and universal joint style metric and SAE sockets. it covers 8-19 mm with no skips, as well as 5/16" to 3/4". You also get extensions: 3", 6" and 10". They even include a 1/2" Female to 3/8" male adapter to adapt these 3/8" sockets to a 1/2" drive setup. A 3/8" universal joint and a 1/4" hex to 3/8" M drill adapter round out the accessories. The 3/8" reversible drive ratchet is nice quality too. It has a comfortable handle, decent length, and smooth 72 tooth gearing.The only minor complaint I have is the drill adapter is very hard to snap into the case slot. I usually have to use one of the extension bars to push down hard enough to get it to snap in place. I'm hoping it will wear in. If not, I'll just work the plastic slot carefully with a file.I'm very pleased with this set and it is much nicer than I was anticipating. This is my first experience with BOEN brand tools but I'm looking forward to more. This set offers surprising value for the money. It is a pretty complete set that I find myself reaching for when I'm in a hurry. I can grab this and my impact and know I'll probably be ok with most normal scenarios. Honestly I've been taking this set to vehicles or jobs I'm working on so I don't need to head to my main toolbox as much.

This BOEN socket set is much better then I expected. The set is contained in a sturdy case where everything is marked and has it's place. The tools are easily retrieved and securely snap back in for storage. Metal latches by the handle and smaller plastic latches on the sides ensure the contents stay in the case, even if it's gone for a rough ride in your car/truck/toolbox.The sockets themselves are top quality. Being impact rated you can use them on your cordless tools with confidence. The matte black finish looks great and you can keep a hold of them with oily hands. All the sockets and adapters have laser engraved size markings along with high contrast orange characters, which is a great feature in low light. They're easy to read and don't wear off. The open corner 6 point socket design loads the fastener flats so you have much less chance of rounding them off. The sockets are strong, durable, and fit their appropriate sized fasteners perfectly. You can feel them engage when you torque on them. The wide variety of sizes, with no gaps in their range, makes this set extremely versatile. I have to add, BOEN included (6) 3/8" x 10mm shallow sockets. They know which ones we tend to lose first. That's actually a thoughtful detail, and much appreciated!To drive the sockets a ratchet, extensions, adapters and a 3/8" swivel are included. All are just as high quality as the sockets themselves. The ratchet is comfortable in your hand, has a ball detent release on the back of the head, and a directional thumb lever. One handed operation is simple. The extentions and adapters all fit snugly to the other tools, and there's no worries about them coming apart during use. The swivel is high quality and moves freely through it's motion.Pros, DIY'ers, homeowners, and techs will love this set. It will quickly become your go to as it contains so many sizes of sockets with effective ways to drive them. With minimal care these tools should have no problem providing excellent service life. The ratchet has a smooth action with fairly low back drag and seems to be well built. The ratchet has the black finish like the sockets.The set pieces store very nice an organized in a blow molded plastic case with metal latches. One feature that I especially like is that the sockets and accessories have the sizes marked clearly and brightly with yellow paint. This makes for easy size location; you don’t need to look closely at the socket to find out what size it is, which allows you to work quicker and more efficiently. All the sockets and accessories are made of chrome molybdenum steel which suitable for impact use. All items also feature a black manganese phosphate coating which should help make them less likely to rust and corrode.I tested out the sockets, extensions, and drive accessories on an exhaust repair project and I was pleased with the performance of this set overall (see video). The set worked well with the impact driver and manually use using the ratchet. I really liked the fact that this set has a wide variety of socket sizes and accessories in both metric and SAE sizes and it’s convenient to have everything at your disposal, well organized in the carrying case. Most socket sets don’t have a complete range of sockets in one set - often skipping sizes. Other sets rarely include universal sockets which are very useful to have to access hard to reach fasteners.Overall this is an great quality set that is well supplied with a large variety of impact sockets with the full range of socket sizes with no skips. I like the fact that the set is well organized in the carrying case and the sockets are all well marked in yellow paint for easy access. This is really nice and complete 3/8” drive impact socket set - highly recommended.

I picked up this Cr‑Mo universal impact socket set because I recently added more 3/8" ratchets and impacts to my workflow, and this set includes shallow, deep, and swivel sockets all in one case. Having all three types together is convenient, especially since I’ve relied on wobble extensions in the past. The set is the right size and weight for targeted deployment when I only need 3/8" impact sockets. Much of my work is outdoors in messy or bad conditions, so I keep my heavy master sets indoors and bring smaller sets like this one outside.The size markings are one of the strongest features. The markings are larger, brighter, and clearer than almost any socket set I own. The yellow paint stands out in low‑visibility situations such as under equipment, outdoors in bad weather, or at night. I appreciate when a brand puts real effort into marking clarity, and these markings are excellent.Looking into the broach, the corners are relieved to shift contact toward the flats. I am familiar with Boen tools as I own a few already and I have never been disappointed in any way with them. This is a rather complete set of metric and SAE 3/8" ratchets. By complete I mean in addition to the swivel sockets there are three different lengths extensions with a universal joint, two adapters, and a 3/8" rachet wrench.The sockets are all fabricated from heat-treated Cr-V steel for strength, impact resistance and durability. The adaptors & universal joint are Cr-Mo steel. They are double identified with the size laser etched on one side and in bright yellow paint-filled embossed characters on the opposite side. I spun them in the storage case to show the bright yellow markings topside for rapid and error-free selection. You can actually feel; the weight and strength of them just holding them in your hand. I have older ratchet sets made from cold steel with a chrome plated finish that are about half the weight of these, and I have broken a few of the older ones over the years. These Boen ratchets will resist heat and a breakage for longer than my lifespan! They have a smooth operation and are easy to use.Many sets have 1/4", 3/6" and 1/2", which is handy enough, however I sometimes end up fumbling for the right size socket to fit the particular handle I was using. A set like this that is all 3/8" drive means anything you select will work with the wrench in your hand. Plus it comes with the 1/2" to 3/8" adapter.I really like 6-point sockets because they fit the heads bolts and nuts perfectly preventing less chances of slipping or damage or rounding of the bolts. A six-point socket will also be far more stable making it easier to apply torque with no wasted motion.Even the storage case is well designed with secure holding for each component and made from thick plastic with some flexibility & resilience, thus it will last forever even if dropped along the way.It costs $180, a reasonable price for such high quality and premium material fabrication. I have seen sets of this quality and strength costing more than three times that cost.
