Looks and feels solid and locks my extinguisher in.I hit the original plastic one with the golf cart when loading it in the toy hauler like a year ago. Not sure metal would have been better to hit with the golf cart or not but I put it in a better spot and I know it'll outlast my extinguishers and they'll be where I need them if the time comes.The finish is really good. The only place you could make a complaint is it was obviously held by the bolt hole when they painted it but you'll never see that again when it's mounted. They gave some giant anchors with some big bolts to put it in. I just used a couple self drilling #10 screws which wouldn't work without the 1/4" washers that were a hair big but will do the job wonderfully. They even provided a handy wrench to tighten it down in case you only have a drill and drill bit but unfortunately only a Phillips bit for your drill like their pictures show. Or maybe it's to sit in the bottom of the tray under the extinguisher in case I happen to need to move it randomly when I find that I put it in the wrong spot.Sturdy, well built, looks pretty, 5 stars

I've always been leery of using the little plastic mounts that come with fire extinguishers. Then along comes this thing. Made of steel and powder coat painted in fire department red.It comes with a strap to ensure the fire extinguisher is well secured but quick and easy to remove in an emergency. It comes with some pretty serious mounting screws and inserts. To say the least, it's not coming off the wall easily, except in an emergency, simply squeeze the clip and it releases the fire extinguisher in a second.They put a lot effort into making this and it shows. The fact you can place any standard 3" extinguisher of just about any height and being so solid means it will last longer than you extinguisher. That makes is a good investment.You do replace you extinguishers, right? It's recommended you replace them about every 10 years. The reason tends to be the powder inside compacts and loses efficiency even though you still show pressure, so be on the safe side.And you should have more than one in a house. Depending on the layout, 2-4 may be a good idea. Kitchen, garage, basement and master bedroom is what I prefer.
